Steam Link?
http://store.steampowered.com/app/353380
At least in theory could be an alternative "extender" option if someone can get SageTV to play with Steam. Host the client on a computer with Steam installed, and stream the content from there out to a given TV. Downside I see is I doubt it would be able to handle more than one client TV per computer, and possibly only one active streaming client at a time per steam account. Although more generally speaking on the Steam front, it might be worth considering how possible it is to get Sage running on SteamOS either as a client or server, which I don't think would be too bad, as it is Linux based from my understanding. The Steam Link isn't the only piece of hardware they're sponsoring or bringing forward, it just happens to be the cheapest as it basically serves as a dumb terminal box. |
