Personally I think you will be better off to not do any remapping. There are menus and dialogs that need the ESC key so you'll have to remap it to something else. That will probably lead to other issues.
I think after using Sage for a few more weeks you will get used to the behavior.

as an ex-BTV user, I would say just get used to it...
even better, go to a headless Sage Sever/HD300 extender setup... PVR'ing bliss...

WELL CRAP, now my mappings are all screwed up...how can I restored the defaults?
