Reduce Menu Options
Hi, I'm looking to streamline my menu subsystems. Can someone point me to a place in the manual http://download.sage.tv/SageTV_Manual.pdf that deals with this?

You might want to look at the Diamond plugin. I think you can use it to get rid of, or at least customize, the TV and Movies menu items.

I could be wrong, but I thought Diamond was limited in that respect?
The (hopefully) upcoming Phoenix and Ortus plugins apparently will feature fully-functional menu customization.

In Diamond you can definitely rename the second level TV options - presumably the name could be "" which would essentially eliminate any confusion caused by large menus.

Diamond has options to hide the main menu items (1st level) and also hide show default video views as well as the ability to create custom video views based on any of the Diamond video views (Wall, Cover Flow, List Flow). See attached. J Last edited by jorton; 06-13-2011 at 08:19 PM. |

OK, still wondering here. I installed the new Diamond mod...its slick. but I can't figure out how to alter the menus to suit my needs best...
for example. in diamond, the videos tab shows the following option: wall flow cover flow list flow sideways flow category flow 360 flow titles dvd/bd category playlists folders playdvd (this one is hidden down low b/c the list is so long) its be nice to remove the ones i know i'll never use and maybe bring it down to 2 or 3 options, say category, folders, playdvd only. I am able to remove the first few 'flow' options through diamond options, but how can i get rid of the rest that are sage defaults? also, the online tab really sucks...what the point here? nothing really worth watching...the PlayOn plugin was nice, until i realized that I have to pay $30 for PlayOn itself before it'll work in Sage. Can I alter the Online submenu so that instead of having: weather youtube videos channels.com more online services get hulu application to something instead like ABC NBC CBS FX Hulu I'd just like to make this work for me and my family.

right, diamond doesn't, but this really isn't a diamond thread...its a how do I edit the menus thread...diamond was one persons suggestion.
there has got to be a way to change the options, even if I have to manually edit some config files or something...surely someone has an idea

Sorry can't help with the Online menu (ditto to jusjoken's comments) so you will have to create something (Stvi) in Studio to hide the items you don't want to see as we don't have dynamic menus in Diamond. The menus are not stored in a file that you can just quickly edit and have items show/hide has to be done in Studio at the moment. J |

![]() There are plugins - PlayOn, WebFeedEncoder, etc. - that let you get streaming internet content. But as far as native content, yes, it's pretty much podcast or "prerecorded/downloadable" only. You can add your own custom content - read the stickies above or the manual.
