HVR 1600 won't use both analog and digital tuners at same time

I'm running a Win7 system with two PVR 150s and one HVR 1600. I occasionally run into a situation where I want to view either an analog station and the digital portion of the HVR 1600 is recording a program and am told that I have to cancel the digital recording to view the analog station OR I want to view a digital station and the analog tuner is being used to record an analog station and am told that I have to cancel the analog recording to view the analog station.

I checked the HVR 1600 FAQ and here's what it says:

Yes, as long as one channel is digital and the other is analog, you may record one while viewing the other, or even record both simultaneously. In the WinTV Scheduler, you need to click the "Record in background" button. While recording a digital TV channel, you can be watching an analog TV channel.
I'm not sure why this is happening, and it doesn't happen often as the 150's are often selected instead of the analog portion of the HVR 1600. I think this only happens when watching live tv.

Any ideas?

When I had a working 1600 in the sage box, I was able to use the analog and digital at the same time. That was using Vista 32 and XP..

Maybe a bad card or a driver issue..

Make sure you have the 1600 set up properly in Sage. For some reason (if I remember correctly) you can select the digital input in the analog tuner option, but that's not the correct listing for the digital tuner.

The other option would be how you have the channel lineup set for the digital tuner. There's not usually any overlap between the two listings. OTA or clearQAM stations would normaly be mapped to a different channel listing, especially if you're using it for HD.
