svchost hangs on sagetv6 startup

svchost reaches 100% cpu usage on startup. suck on sagetv startup screen

i kill process in task manager and restart windows audio service.
then everything works fine.

already deleted old properties and wiz files. any ideas???

beginning of debug log file is posted to where hang is detected

winlogon is parent of svchost (from process explorer)
svchost hangs even is sagetv is not loaded on startup

I once had this problem, for me it wound up being easier to restore a backup then resolve it. svchost is a pain since it can be so many other things causing it. If you don't already have Acronis I suggest you get it and format XP fresh then take an image, another after hardware and if you want another after Sage install. Mine occurred several years ago never reoccured and the closest I got had to do with windows updates.

somehow, my computer boots normally now. took about a month. dont know what i did to fix it. maybe one of the windows updates fixed up. maybe malicious software removal did something.

i did take a few steps that might have helped.

removed all extra startup programs from startup and registry.
ran virus scan.
