gbBurn creates a file with the same root file name with .xml replacing the .mpg extention. They are all 1k and when you open them, you will see the show data.

Update to gbBurn at the web site.

It now begins with a prompt for a 'dry run'. This shows you what it is going to do but doesn't write anything to disk or set the last dvd number.

Update to gbBurn at the web site.

I ran into some issues on the last update so I spent some time cleaning up.

1- Writes nothing to disk until the burn is completed. No more orphan files on a cancel and the last DVD number is preserved.

2- Progress messages are shorter and easy to read.

3- Dry Run displays the proposed batch file contents including space required, files copied, DVD number, date and time for all proposed batches.

Enjoy -gary-

Still looking for a STV that allows parental passwords on either selected imports MPG files or an option similiar to My Videos that would be password protected in which the admin could add selected imported MPG files. Do you plan to add anything like this?

How do u do stop, and xml files support

I tried using GB Stv, and i am used to working with my mouse on my client machine.

I usually do stop for video files and livetv using right click and then close video.

How do I do this with GB?

Also, do you support avi files with xml files (same file name + .xml or .my) in video directory, so that when I want to view a file, I'll get the title and description from the file?

I am thinking of course of compressing shows and viewing them in the video directory.

I always used a minimal set of remote buttons so I didn't care much about the mouse. I am now in a situation where I am using a client on a laptop and I feel your pain, additional mouse support is certainly possible.

There obviously is not much interest in this STV so development stopped when I got what I wanted

Again, my main objective was to move content off the drives as efficiently as possible so supporting traditional archives on hard drives was not a compelling requirement for me.

It wouldn't be hard to support other content formats and compression. I have been toying with the idea of doing another rev of this as I might have some time. I could use some feedback to create some priorities and requirements to work from.

I do appreciate your interest.

this sounds great

I would love to see an option where I modify the grid layout from a list for every part.
I would also like to see a way to keep just the extra functionality of using the burn to dvd and show .my or .xml data for compresed files that are in the video directory.

Also I would like to be able to set the font for which the extra info would be shown in. this is because I use Hebrew and the Theoma is not compatible.

I hope you implement this soon, and I would be glad to check it out.

also, I have noticed using Cayras 17 on the client machine, hat when I tell it to compress, nothing hppens, but on the server machine (through vn) the xml files are being created, maybe you can fix that if you hav the code for cayaras?

Thats all I have right now.

It seems that not a lot of STV development is going on these days and thats a shame.

I am really sorry to bother you glbrown, but I was just wondering if you ever got a chance to get your quickcut feature to work with Womble video wizard? Thanks!

I understand. If you ever do get around to working on this again, I'd appreciate it if you would keep Womble in mind. Enjoy the new house and thanks for the reply!

Options Button

Sorry for the dumb question, but....

Where is the options button to access your menus on a hauppauge 35 and 45 key remote? Also, is it possible from the keyboard?

Does this require me to map a key from within the setup menu? If so, how is that done?

Sorry about this. The work looks great but can't get a handle on it yet.

Thanks for everything.

Link Infrared/Keystroke to SageTV Command

Here you can link the SageTV Options command to any button and/or key

rungbburn_f.bat setup

Hi Gary,

I'm trying here.

When you say:

'Use rungbburn_f.bat as a template to create your own driver batch file. It needs the SageTV directory and the INI file path as arguments.'

...the INI file path is where gbburn.ini is and the SageTV directory is where the recordings are stored or where the sage program is?

Also, the log files in the .INI can be anywhere, right?

Thanks,
john

I made a few changes in the copy mechanism and attached the new files here.

1- gbburn now processes multiple video directories as specified in the ini file. You no longer specify the video directory on the command line.

2- You can re-burn a batch if the write fails for any reason.

3- gbburn creates an import file for Movie Library in a directory specified in the ini.

You can place the ini file anywhere and specify that that path in the bat file. Your video directories are now specified in the ini file.

Let me know if you need any help.

thanx -gary-

processed 0 batches

Hi Gary,

I believe I've marked files for archive and set the ini files up to point to the correct directories containing my mpgs. However, I get "completed processing 0 batches" as a message.

Also, I can't find any logs generated...not where I setup in the INI or anywhere.

Any ideas? I've tried to set up my directories pretty much the way you have them in your original INI.

Thanks, almost there!

John
