So I have a PVR500, and I'd like to be able to record 2 channels at once, both from a single signle, the coax from anteana.

Is this possible? or do i need to use this header and split the coax coming from the anteana??

Any help would be appreciated!

Coax input split internally on PVR500 via it's internal splitter.

As Mdmint said, if you've got the 75ohm connector plugged into your cable it is split internally in the card so both tuners get the signal.

If you need a STB (Set Top Box) to tune your cable/dish that's when you need the 2nd connector since each STB would need it's own input.

For the sake of being lazy, can anyone tell me which white header the adapter bracket needs to plug into in order to use BOTH S-Video inputs on the card?

I'm guessing A/V 2 (or the right one, when looking down onto the component side of the card, with white header connectors on top).

FiOS TV will be installed next week, and knowing that off hand will speed things up for me a bit.

Here's a picture showing how to hook it up.

Great. Thank you. Looks like they changed the connectors from when I got mine. Mine has the wires coming straight out, instead of up from the card like yours. Makes it a little more difficult to get cards right next to each other...but not too bad.

Just for clarification, on my PVR-500's you can put the add-on connector to either space. One is for each tuner. So if you want to connect two STBs to your PVR-500, get two of the connectors and you should be in business. Once you reboot, you should be able to go into SageTV and add a new composite video source. It will say something like tuner #4 composite or tuner #1 composite. You will still show your two tuners .... so don't be surprised. I suggest you hook up a dvd player to the RCA jacks so you can verify that you get the connection right. There was 5 choices to chose from: I think...composite, composite 1, S-video and two others I can't remember right now.

Be prepared for some possible trouble. I lost about half of my program guide for awhile. Evidently Sage uses my Tuner #4 for alot my recording. I installed the USB-UIRT but haven't started hooking up the STB yet. There was too much wife and kid trouble when the program guide went haywire and some recordings were missed.

I have the MCE-500. I already have 2nd input connector.
Check this STB: http://www.shaw.ca/NR/rdonlyres/7EE5.../0/HD700lg.jpg

I need a way to convert COAX to S-VIDEO.
Any idea of the options I got here?

Thank you,
itsanogo

RF Modulator?

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1067388827858

Takes composite output and converts to RF (coax) input.

Why? What are you trying to do? Once you find this adapter it is no longer s-video you are transmitting. Are you trying to record the premium channels with this like HBO? You may as well just connect the composite (yellow) jack and audio to the 2nd input.

By looking at the Shaw STB, the best output I can get from it is the RCA composite? I would think they had at least S-VIDEO or Component outputs?

It's the same with my Moto22xx series. You only get RCA composite or COAX. So it is probably normal. Now my HD box has DVI, SVideo, Component and Composite outputs.

Yeah, that Shaw box looks EXACTLY the same physically/connection-wise as the SD digital boxes that ComCast is giving out in this area.

I have two of those, one one each TV. I signed up for HD, went to the local Comcast payment center and picked up a Motorolal DCT 6200 (used) to handle the HD duties. That box is dedicated to my new Hauppauge HD PVR. So if I want to watch HD I'll have to do it through SageTv.
I have HD extenders on both TVs. The only time it might be a problem is if i want to watch something in HD and the HD PVR needs the HD box to record something.
Oh, I've also got an HDHR getting the QAM channels off my cable so if it's a network local I have 2 more tuners available for HD duties.
