Has anyone else seen this? ff/rew causes Sage to just hang?????
Yes, mine does this, usually when the gf uses the system for some reason. I was going to try this plugin tonight in hopes of solving of it. There is some discussion that it may be related to the audio codec you are using, but I experience it with both AC3filter and the nvidia audio decoder.

I am afraid I cannot do anything about lockups -- Ill I can do (and all I am doing) is to tell Sage to seek to a specific position in the file. The rest is up to the sage core, and the decoders filters...

Didn't lock up last night, so I'm hoping the pause/newtime repeat is different enough from sage's 10 sec skip. I've never frozen on pause play, only on ff and the gf was happy last night as it worked smoothely. She even used the remote and it didn't crash.

...knock on wood...

You can forget about the lock ups! Naylia started another thread asking if anyone else has had this happen. Someone said they had this problem when they had increased the priority of the SageTV task. Sure enough I dropped the priority using PROCESS and the freeze went away.

Now I have your fantastic import working like a charm!!!!

I have it working in SageMC16x9 with the Elecard MPEG decoder using the DScaler de-interlacer, in case anyone else is interested. Works great, just took a little while to get used to a "real" ff and rew again.

me 2 -- both the wife and I still find myself pressing the FF button about 5 times then panicking as Sage zooms through the program at 128x!

anyone using FF/REW w/ MediaMVP ??

When I try to use 'FF/REW' w/ MediaMVP, it just sits there and doesn't do anything. Is anyone else using it w/ a MediaMVP unit ? If so, does it work?

Thanks, Steve

I've had the same experience. I am using SageMC 16x9 and it allows me to select the different speeds buy does nothing. I am also using the MediaMVP? Is it supposed to work?

I don't have an MVP so cannot confirm this problem... It could be that Matts plugin is incompatible with this module

Neil's FF pauses playback and then skips forward. The MVP does not support this and as a result the MVP Client neither (see #3 of Known Issues).

Even if it did or if Niel removed the pause, the MVP's skip response time would probably be too slow to make this a useful feature.

So in short, the MVP Client does not support real FF until I implement this in MVP Client at the MPEG-streaming level (it's on my todo list, but don't hold your breath).

Sorry,
Matt

Has anyone tested the auto-mute feature with AC3Filter?

Unfortunately for me, I am getting lockups using the tool, usually after going beyond 8x ff (I didn't try rewind). After two lock ups which required hard reboots I have unfortunately uninstalled it. After the lockups also, my SageTV interface was wacked, showing only a choice for "Enhancements" and nothing else and that choice wasn't clickable anyway! Had to restore my backup .stv etc.

My hardware:

dell pc 3.2ghz pentium, 1 gig ram, xp sp2
Hauppage 350, using TV-OUT

This is the first problem I've had! Oh well...

Tom

Sounds like you loaded the module as your STV rather than importing it... (the import button is below the load button in detailed setup/Advanced)

Whether this is also related to the lockups, I am not sure: I never tried testing this module as a stand-alone STV! It could also be related your your use of the PVR-350 TV-out...

I'm sure I imported it into a copy of my .stv file. menus etc were fine until after the crash and a hard reboot. oh well, perhaps I'll try it again sometime....

TIA
