AFAIK, its the same comskip used in sage. I use BTV and it does background processing detecting black frames and mark them ins and outs. As for the automatic skip, I think there's a plugin for that. But if you think that not making auto skip will "avoid lawsuits," then I can live with that.

BTV's chapter detection is certainly NOT the same as COMSKIP. COMSKIP (and in the future ShowAnalyzer) use many more (and in my opinion) and more sophisticated algorithms than merely black frame detection.

But that is probably somehat off-topic...

Well, I wasn't referring to Jare Jones' Show Analyzer, last time I tried ComSkip was using malore's version. And according to the documents, "it just uses the blank scene detection." I'm not sure if Jere based SA on Comskip, but yes, I'm aware that SA is more sophisticated.

Comskip uses other things too, like CC key words, network logo, etc.
