Now for the SUB MENU

Nothing to choose here either, only the option to enter a name and then descriptive text. What am I missing?

Thanks again for all your help Neilm.

Is there an internal code I can punch in to see what each one is if it's not straight forward?
There is a very old and inaccurate list from my V2.0 STV, but most of the names should be straightforward...

Otherwise its trial+error: add a new menu item, go to it, find out it is rubbish, hit Back and delete it

There is no ay to uninstall a module, so the only thing to do is re-import everything *else* into a copy of the default STV.

I'm just now getting that the modules are imported "into" an existing STV. That means, If I back up the STV, then all is well, right? I can then re-use that STV again if it gets corrupt along the way. Is my understanding correct?

I don't know if this is a bug, or a feature request... When a show being viewed reaches the end it just stops... I thought earlier it was asking if I wanted to delete it.

Also it would be nice to have the option to mark watched & delete when I hit stop.

I would also like to know if it would be easy to have it send the "Back" command instead of "home" when I hit stop twice.

I think (but I am not sure) that I am having some Java-related problems. I don't think that it is a Nielm-specific issue. My system, even with SageTV 2.2, started freezing frequently apparently after I updated my system to the current Java 1.5 level. I uninstalled that stepped backward to 1.4.2.8 and all was fine. I upgraded to SageTV 3.0.3 and all remained fine. I added in virtually all of the 3.0-revised Nielm modules, and freezes became common. Then I added fewer, and now it seldom freezes (though just did when the caller ID module responded to a phone call.) Is this likely Java-version related? If so, is there a preferred version that you are using?

It does if it is a manual record, or a fave with auto-delete=off (this is a standard STV feature)

The watched state will be set automatically depending on how much of the show you have watched -- I think it is at about 80% but not sure. (This is a standard core feature)

This was a design decision there are a couple of issues with doing this in the standard STV which can lead to video being restarted in error depending what 'previous screen' you were on

    SageTV/com/stusals
  • Backup your old weatherconfig.xml
  • download the V3 Weather report suite zipfile
  • Unpack it into your SageTV directory (creates several files in subdirs JARs, "weather.com icons" and STVs/SageTV3)

  • edit your old weatherconfig.xml and verify/update the path to the weather.com icons (iconPath)
  • Restart SageTV
  • Import the weather_report_suite_import.stv

Lightbulb New Import?

Hey Nielm,

Your work is much appreciated!

I'm not complaining, but if your're bored, here's some suggestions:

How about the semi-transparent watched bars from cayars .stv? These are really cool.

How about the "skip dvd menu" option from cayars .stv? This is especially useful on children's dvds.

Look at it this way, its easier than moving to one of the cities in the default config.

What happened to that hacker spirit? Worst that can happen (assuming you take adequate fire precautions) is that you need a new computer.

Check it out ... Not sure if you'll find DC ... but some of us posted ours in this thread a while ago for others to try / use ... maybe you'll be lucky ...

http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...81&postcount=9

I wish we had sticky threads for us to post mods we can share ... like one for XML menu files, another for property files, and another for XML Weatherconfig files, etc. Posting screen shots to shop through them if we want ... just a thought

That's what I did. Found a really easy one and stuck with it. Mine is very basic and uses mostly animations from accuweather that were simple to add.

In fact Snoop dog if you live in the NE mine is pretty close to working for you. Change your zip code and find a good local city wide type radar and you're there.
