Not sure but I think you can tell SA what shows/channels to process and which to skip.

Yep, I think that's it. For, example, movie channels, that you know do not have commercials...no point in wasting CPU cycles on that, huh?

I have SA being fired by comskip, and in the setup menu you can specify which channels to ignore. I had always assumed it was to do with running SA on a client box that may be 'dumb' as to what is what???

Hi,

Im also wondering why the need for a webserver? ,would it not be easier if SAGE included the channel number in the filename..

sage cuurently ouputs my files like this
NYPDBlue-Episode1of23HoDown-454768-0.mpg
so if you added CH142 to the line above, then i could get SA to use `AUTOMATIC PROFILE SELECTION` based on filename for processing.
Currently SA does a blinding job on SKY & ITV channels, but im struggling with FIVE & SCI-FI + others,i dont want to modify the settings that work so well for those channels, so different profiles for sets of channels seems the answer to me.

That is, to me, the major advantage of the connection to the webserver. In SAConfig, you can create new settings, adjust them to your liking, and the setup the automatic profile selection to use those settings for channels of your choice.

The plan was for May 7th, but as I was wrapping it up and doing final sanity checks, a major problem was found with the logo detection and the new settings that I'm working out.

I'm also having problem demuxing high definition DVR-MS files. That looks like it may take a while to work out though, so I may just release without fixing it and continue to work on it for the next version.

I'm also not happy with the audio portion of the analyzing. It is also under rewrite.

Yes, and remember these are all beta's If there is something that will do HD material better than it is doing it now, I'm game. I know SA isn't just for us Sage folks so you have other customers to satisfy but we do love to be your guinea pigs .

!!UNINSTALL ANY PREVIOUS VERSION BEFORE INSTALLING THIS ONE!!

0.7.0 - 15 May 2006
- Fixed bug where multiple instances running at the same time would interact. (That was a wierd bug!)
- Added setting to adjust how long SA will wait for more information to be written to the drive before giving up. (useful for those with write caching)
- Completely rewrote decoder framework (again...)
- Added Transport Stream support
- Remade the global settings page in SAConfig. (The tuning settings will be done later.)
- Any file type can be created at the beginning of processing now (not just the txt files)
- Added option to lock .txt frame number output to a specific frame rate (SageTV limitation work around)
- Added support for version 2.8 of Neilm's SageTV Webserver
- Completely rewrote edge detection mechanism. It is SOOOOO much better. If you find a false lock, please let me know!
- (Possibly) Fixed the Always/Never mark Beginning/End code.
- Removed SchoolHouse until it can be rewritten for SA's new internal functioning.
- Ok, I made so many minor bug fixes that if you have a complaint about the old SA, it is worthwhile to try with this version...

When installing this version, will it remember the setting from the previous version that we uninstalled? Just wondering if I need to do screen captures before installing...

THANK YOU for the update Jere. I know you have been working hard!

Kept all settings, except SageTV > When To Create > Changed to "When Done Processing" when I had it set to "When Beginning Processing" (or similar).

I like the new look, more straight forward than before.

One bugger got in there.

Global > Global Settings > +SageTV > When to create > When beginning processing
Global > Global Settings > +SageTV > Force frame rate > Native frame rate

When I click "Default" and then go back to Global, the Native frame rate changes to 29.97FPS, automatically...

LOL, if it's set to When Finished Processing, it changes to 25FPS instead...

Ut, oh...

I'm getting a Windows error (audio), but no error message, when DirMon launches SA.

Secondly, I've got NO CPU resources being use by the SA's listed in Task Manager... DM shows 3 instances running, as normal, but Task Manager shows no activity on the 3.

Not getting any log windows showing up, if it's enabled in SA either...

...LOL, never mind. Had to "Register" again. But, there is still that problem with the frame rate changing on you, even after saving.

How long is it supposed to take to detect a typical HD show. I Installed the new SA about 8:00 pm and started it detecting on two shows. Its now almost 11:00 and it isn't done yet.

I looked at one of the programs while it was detecting and it is marking commercials which is a first for this progam in HD , but 3 hours?

Yes I did register the product.

Maybe I need a reboot

I'm seeing this now. Dirmon2 I finished one job and opened the next. Its sitting there at 00cpu usage and 0:00:00 cpu Time.

I have registered the SA 3 times so I don't think that is it, I also switched output from the begining to the end and it does the same thing.

There were 20 HD shows in the cue. I killed the process on 5 or 6 in a row which showed 0 cpu before one would run again. It seems to be running now on a show recorded on the HDTV tuner but one that is in an SD ratio. I don't know if that makes any difference though.

Its late so no log files for now.

doh, just realized that sage is recording two programs at the moment. I suppose ShowAnalyzer is waiting to process till after the recordings are done. Just like I asked it to.

I should just go to bed, I never would have noticed this and im sure all will be detected by morning.

Humanzee,

I'm a little confused. Is everything ok, or is there a problem?

Thanks,
Jere

It would seem as if everything is okay...but I'll let him answer that.

I am anticipating an HD recording in a day or two, so I'll report back how SA did.

Thank you so much!

Well I am having the same problem as Humanzee. It starts to process a show and works great, but the next show will just hang. It shows 0 cpu and the system is at idle. I can kill the process and start it again, then it works, but will do the same on the next show. Any ideas? Chad
