SA Stuck

I set SA 7 to work on one of my "Amazing Stories" recordings.. it gets stuck each time it tries it! I let it go for almost 12 hours now and it is still stuck about 4 minutes into the show. I did notice at one point it seemed to have grabbed an edge profile out of a commercial! I saw the "1-800-xxxx" stuff in a profile that was the width of the bottom of the screen.. SA dropped it not long after that and appeared to start looking for a new one.. but it just spun its wheels and never finished...

Is there something I can change to try to get SA to push past this and/or just give up on that file?

Well I thought everything was ok last night when I realized that there was activity on the hard drive. I thought it was waiting till there was no drive activity before starting. Apparently that was not true. It was late and I thought that SA would wait for drive inactivity, but it is Dirmon2 that does that. Sure enough when I looked this morning there was a large cueue with a single SA process running at 0% cpu usage and 00:00:00 cpu time consumed.

So yes, there is a problem.

SageTV Webserver options

I assume the settings "Pause when SageTV is playing/recording a show" are global, so SA will pause when Sage is playing/recording any show ? Would be kind'a neat to have an option to tell SA to check the status only on the file it is currently processing, and it would also be a workaround for the current Dirmon detection problems ...

Where are those settings? I am not running the web server. Regardless, Sage wasn't recording or playing anything this morning when I checked it. SA was still idle.

Sorry for leaving the impression that my post was geared towards yours, it was actually meant as completely new question I had myself about the SA settings. Should have been more clear ...

I'm also seeing ShowAnalyzer hang on an HD recording. It seems to be working on normal recordings just fine though.

Checked the log and it's blank as well as the txt file.

I am seeing the same issue. Sitting at 0% CPU utilization for HD shows. Status says Scanning. The log file and txt file sit at zero bytes.

I think I've found the 0fps/0%cpu problem. That was a really obscure bug! Wierd.

Regardless, I'll put out 0.7.1 tonight.

Observation and a Sage Problem

I have used the latest ShowAnalyzer to successfully process 3 HD files. However, the only files that process to completion were recorded from Fox (Prison Break, Bones, 24).

Files recorded from any other network ( CBS, NBC, ABC) hang at 30-45 minutes into the scan and ShowAnalyzer will not exit normally. No txt file is generated. The process must be stopped via Task Manager.

The Sage problem is when I try to play these Fox HD files, the commercial breaks identified by ShowAnalyzer do not show on the Sage timeline.

I have put a copy of the latest comskip.exe in the C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3 directory. I have loaded the latest comskip stvi via the Detailed setup -> Advanced -> Import SageTV Applicatio Package,

SD files display the commercial segments just fine. Anyone else have better luck?

Hi Dirk,

It depends on how you SageTV setup and what "instance" is running the webserver. SA can only base its decision on what the webserver says.

But basically, yes, any show.

Sounds similar to an issue that I was having with Comskip. Check out http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...&postcount=148

Not at all. What I want the SchoolHouse to be, however, requires me to start from scratch. I'd like to get the new decoders working right and then I'll get back to the SchoolHouse.

RayN,

You may have to use the "Force Frame Rate" setting. Set it to 29.97 if you are an NTSC guy. Or set it to 25 if you are a PAL person.

0.7.1 - 17 May 2006
- Fixed bug in "Force Frame Rate" for SageTV.
- Corrected possible misidentification of audio sampling rate.
- Added protection against files that only have I-frames timestamped.
- Re-added the closed captioning outputs.
- Fixed bug that cause no commercials to be detected when there was an always/never mark setting for the beginning but not the end.
- Replaced audio analyzer. I recommend changing the "Depth of Analysis" to 60 as a starting point.

Is an uninstall needed before installing 0.7.1?

No. But I "strongly" recommend you adjust the depth of analysis to 60. You may need to adjust from there, but it is a good place to start.
