I installed the current version 3 beta last night with the following results (so far.).
1. No end of file bug on two recorded programs. Files ended and immediately displayed the recorded TV window at which point I could scroll up and down the list and proceed to watch another program (no 100% CPU utilization). 2. Unfortunately while scrolling through the guide when I selected a program for viewing the system did a complete restart. This happened once although I tired duplicating it, I could not . 3. When I put Sage TV in sleep mode it looks like it continues to record as the disk led continued to flash . There is disk activity and the system does not go into standby after the prescribed time setting. Has anyone else experienced item 3. Am I missing some new setting?

I am primarily interested in Sage because of the possibility of HDTV. I have installed 3.0.5 and it works well with my PVR-500. However my Fusion 3 Gold doesn't work at all.
I chose the Fusion WDM Video Capture, then Digital TV Tuner. I picked "do not configure tuning" and then selected my local over-the-air lineup (Washington D.C.). I then used the fusion software to verify which channels I get in really well and selected those channels in Sage. Everytime I try to tune one of the channels sage TV crashes and windows asks me to send an error report. There are no other errors given. My relevant details: AMD 3100+ Sempron ATI 9600XT PVR-500 Fusion 3 Gold 512 Meg Ram Using 3d enabled mode with and without FSE. Any ideas? -Jim Last edited by Kingjamez; 07-29-2005 at 07:35 AM. |

Make sure you're not using the SageTV audio decoder (Detailed Setup -> Audio) AFIAK, it doesn't support AC3.

On reading this, I decided to let some of my recorded programs run to EOF. I tested 6 programs randomly selected. The first one I let run to EOF simply stopped and things slowed way down like they have in the past. After a minute or two I tried to bring up the Options menu but before it could come up I got a new menu asking if I wanted to delete the file or not. The Options menu was then displayed UNDERNEATH this new menu. When I told the new menu to NOT delete the file, the entire system rebooted. On reboot, I tried to reproduce the error but was unable to get it to happen again. On the other 5 programs, I always got the new menu asking me to delete the file or not though the length of time it took the menu to appear seems to vary quite a bit. Selecting to NOT delete the file returns Sage to the main menu BUT the program is apparently still being watched. I have to navigate back to the program view and then use the Options menu to Close the file whiich returns me to the main menu with nothing being watched. Concerning the length of time it takes for the new menu to appear. About half the time the Sage Logo appears in the center of the TV and begins to rotate. I have never seen this before so I assume it is something new. Sometimes it takes a couple of minutes for the new Delete/Don't Delete menu to appear. Karen

Im running on a Fusion 5 gold and hitting the exact same issues. I honestly believe that the HDTV portion is still not active as only parts seem to be present. I still havent gotten a clear answer as to if its active so Im guessing its either not active or Dvico cards are simply not being supported by Sage. Hopefully Andy(Opus) will give a shout out on the status of this soon though. Good luck. Adam |

HDTV has been a long time coming and if there was a little yellow smily icon wetting its pants with anticipation I'd attach it here. This is going to be awsome. No more HDTV or PVR. Soon it will be HDTV and PVR. Do you think it would be worth even trying it with the AccessDTV card or do you think it will require one of the newer cards? Thanks, Rob |

I seriously doubt any of the "hardware" HD cards (MyHD, AccessDTV, etc) will ever work with Sage for the simple reason that they'd need to provide BDA drivers, and there's no sign they will.

I got HDTV working with an HDTV Wonder card last night. But when I change channels SageTV crashes, like what was mentioned before with the Fusion cards. Playback was also very jumpy (not a signal issue), and this is on a AMD64 3200+ and 6800GT using the nvidia decoder. A little more work and Sage will be great!

Stanger is probably correct about the "hardware" HDTV cards, unfortunately.
Any suggestions on the best "software" HDTV card for Sage ? Anyone interested in a very slightly used MyHD 130 'hardware' HDTV card ? I'll be installing the beta this weekend. Went ahead and installed the beta 3.0.5 on this desktop machine (not the HTPC) just to check it out. When the installation was finished and I tried to start, it is asking for a key. Where do I get the key ? Ken C Last edited by Ken C; 07-29-2005 at 12:11 PM. |

You have to purchase Sage to get a key. I think the 3.0 beta is only available to those who have purchased Sage in the past, but a trial of version 2.0 is available.

v.3.0.5 beta fixed the channel-change bug for me..
and the interface looks great. if it was up to me i'd remove that little sage logo that appears at the far right of the silver bar that indicates the currently-selected menu item. but that's my only criticism so far and i think overall v3 looks quite nice. mf |

that sage logo on the silver bar is stretched out on my tv @ 1280x720, looks wacky

There is still something wrong with the installer though. Also, 3.05 seems to have solved the channel change bug but Sage still locks up when I try to sleep it while using FSE mode. |

Could you please send a mini mop(ie instructions) on what you did? (ie did you need to manually map sub-channels if so how are they designated, what options did you select etc) Thanks Adam |
