appeline-whaler,
Your issue is the same one I had between zoom player and myHTPC. Currently I do not know of a way to have two different apps read the same input and act on it accordingly. That is why I moved to girder. You will find in the girder file pointed to in this thread a section that identifies the foreground app and sends the remote commands only to that app. It will also launch which ever app you wish based on your remote commands.

This way I have girder read the remote input, then enable/disable the remote support for each app. accordingly.

hope this helps,

The only way to use the IRMan with SageTV and have it control other applications is through Girder. If you setup the IRMan through SageTV then SageTV will never give up control of the device, because it wants to make the IRMan available to accept SageTV commands at all times.

On a related note,

I'm a diehard myHTPC, ZP, Girder, and now, Sage user.

One of my big issues that I just had to put up with is that I wanted to use Zoomplayer to watch all my recorded shows. It has a good deal to offer that teh Sage player doesn't (good display of shows instead of the sageguide, nice on screen displays, actual volume control, etc).

However, pointing a module to my "recorded shows" directory not only shows me all my recorded shows, but it lists all the tiny cache files that Sage leaves whenever it changes channels.

I know it's a small thing, but frustrating!! The only half-fix for it that I know of is to delete all files < 500 meg every half hour or so.

Anyone else in this same pickle? I'm enduring the SagePlayer for the moment, but it's really messing up the uniform look/feel of my htpc.

Thanks,
Funky D

p.s. Ugh... don't get me started on the Sage support... they were kinda offended at the thought that Zoomplayer does things the Sageplayer can't. *groan*
