You're right of course, I've mostly been using the the Default and mlbdude views, so haven't really paid attention to the malore view changes.

You might want to do a search in the xml for Scheduel

And in the more tweak than change category. Would it be possible to enable/disable the Icon and Alternate View bars separately. I'd like to have the Icon bar, but don't currently have a need for the Alternate view bar and would like to reclaim the real estate.

I didn't say I wouldn't fix things... at this RC point, I'm trying to do only fixes in the STV and no feature changes.

BTW: you could also try reducing the "Malore Menu Font Size" to reduce the space used at the bottom, thus increasing the space at the top.

I think I fixed an issue mentioned here:

1. When focus in the left pane changes, make sure the first airing is the default episode selection in the right pane.

Thanks for all the great additions, I use this as my default UI and I am very happy with it.

2 Quick questions

1) Is it safe to use the diskspace bar now with MVPs? I saw earlier in the thread that it probably should be off now but maybe I missed where it is okay now?
2) Can the custom views optionally be set to only one view? When my wife scrolls using the MVP around she ends up getting stuck on the alternate views.

It should work.

You could search the properties file for all the properties ending with "num_alt_views" & set them to 1... I haven't tested it with a setting of 1, though.

The MVP properties files are in the "clients" subdirectory where SageTV is installed. (... unless you are using Vista, in which case, they are somewhere else.)

Brilliant! That did the trick, it works! Even though it was a minor change the WAF is much higher now.

I don't suppose there is a sage setting to keep the MVP client property files in sync? The only difference I need between the two MVP clients is the ui/ui_overscan_correction_XXXX properties. Otherwise I find myself constantly copying the main Sage MVP client properties file and hand editing.

Because of another topic, I realized that the "Series Premieres & Specials" custom menu lists "Series Premieres", but not "Season Premieres" or any other possible type of premiere. (Of course, that is what the menu's title says it does!) For now, I may change that to just be "Premiere" so it catches them all. There is also a way to check for finales, so maybe I'll extend it to do more in the future. Still working out how I want to deal with those flags. Edit: Until an update is posted, you can do this in Studio by searching for ".*Series Premiere.*" and changing it to ".*Premiere.*", then use the Options command to set the menu to display "Premieres Only".

Also, does anyone else have a recordings view of just their movies? have you ever tried to group it by category? Now that I've got a lot more disk space, I realized that since "Movie" is the main category, you just end up with that as the single category in the left pane. So, I've been looking into having it group by subcategory if there is only 1 category group and/or just adding a new grouping option for subcategory (probably both).

A few more changes for testing:

1. If a malore menu is grouped by category and there is only 1 entry, then group by subcategory. Also added option to group by subcategory. Either one of these solves the issue of grouping recorded movies by category.

To configure: use the Options command, then select the "Premieres: Any, Finales: Any, Specials: Any" button. I suggest creating at least 3 alternate views and configuring each one for one type of special airing.

Great job on this new addition makes it very easy to find and add new series etc... by filtering shows that are already "not favorites".

This new feature doesn't seem to be working correctly on my system. It's not showing all of the "Series Premiere" episodes.

Running 6.2.7, about 20 or so shows showed up under the "Series Premiere" category (for example, "Back to you", which aired tonight).

However, with 6.2.10, there are now only 2 shows appearing under "Series Premiere" (I configured the view to show only Series Premieres, no Finales or Specials).

The two shows that appear are: Property Virgins on HGTV and The Adrenaline Project on FOX. For example, Back To You, which had appeared in 6.2.7 was no longer shown after the upgrade.

Am I missing something? Please help.

My guess is that there aren't very many airings that have the Series Premiere flag set. Try setting up a view for just Specials & you'll see several other new shows & they don't have any type of premiere flag. I still see lots of Season Premieres listed, though.

Why would this have changed between 6.2.7 and 6.2.10, though?

If I search for Bionic Woman in the guide, it appears to be marked as a Series Premiere in the detailed info. However, it doesn't show up in the Series Premiere search.

I attached a couple of screenshots that illustrate what I am seeing. Perhaps I am missing something?

Thanks for the example of a specific show. Something strange is going on with that because it ends up getting listed as a Special w/o the Series Premiere info on the detailed screen, but has that info if the airing is viewed from a different menu. I'll get back to you about this when I have some time to check it out further.

Edit: About 30 seconds after posting this, it occurred to me what is happening because the different versions of the airings I mentioned are not actually the same airing & that gave me the clue I needed. I'm not sure when I'll have time to fix it, though, so it might be a few days before I post anything.

This test STV should fix the premiere issue mentioned above, with this change:

1. Fixed malore "Special Airings" menu determination of premieres, finales, and specials. (Blocking all specials shouldn't also block most series premieres now.)
