Hip allows you to nominate WHICH blaster (or both) you want to send IR commands to and so it would be possible to send different IR commands to different units according to your needs.

I am sorry, it seems that I have hijacked this thread and thats not good.
All I wanted to know is if there is a solution to what I need.

I need a way for SAGE to diffrentiate, I have not yet tested this setup myself, but I do not think that SAGE diffrentiates the cards.

I know girder, and now HIP, (nice software btw), can diffrentiate, but in order for that to happen, SAGE needs to tell them that this STB needs to change the the channel (or the other card).

I am asking about how to make SAGE diffrantiate, not the other programs that I know I have a solution for.

The author of the program has done some sterling work over the last few days ggetting this working properly with SageTV. I find the MCE2005 remote far and away the best one, but without this software it just doesn't work.
Be warned that my config file is for the test version, probably the one mentioned a few posts earlier.
I can't seem to get this to work at all with HIP. I installed the latest version of HIP and installed the replacement driver for my remote and no luck. Not even up and down work.
Any ideas?

Sorry for the confusion. The test version has now been removed as the changes are now in the live version available from:

No problem.
Your software is great. My MCE remote is working better than ever w/Sage.

Attached is my HIP file. Instead of putting Sage to sleep, it exits out of the program when the power button is pressed. I added explorer.exe as program#2 and mapped the green button to relaunch Sage (ala MCE) I find this useful when Sage starts to wig and needs to be rebooted. The 2nd command uses the command line parameter -startup to start the app in whatever mode you get upon boot.

Have fun,

B

New to HIP and haven't used the latest version but I'm planning on installing HIP on my new client box. What changes do I need to make to your HIP file to work with Client (i.e. do I just add "Client" to all the Sage references such as SageApp to SageClientApp???). Also, since I want the MCE remote's power button to continue to sleep/wake my Client box and not close Client, do I simply remove this entry ("PC|31731=Power @{F4}") from the HIP file you posted?

Seems like example Sage and Sage Client HIP files to download need a sticky or something somewhere...

Thanks.

I think you will be surprised how quick and simple it is to create your own configuration file via the new HIP Setup Wizard. The problem with using somebody elses Hip file is you do not know exactly how it has been programmed and how theis system is setup. Also system-wide commands (and IR sending commands) are saved in a different file related to the input device (in the case HipMCE.INI).

I would recommend starting fresh to make sure everything is working, and if you want to import some of these commands, you can use the IMPORT command to copy them from this Hip file.

However, if you want to try this Hip file, then I would not make any modifications to the file itself, I would change the exe and remove the POWER entry from within Hip itself as this is safer.
