Americable Military cable service not mapping properly for EPG

Hi all. I've just installed 3.0.13 and it's great so far! Thanks guys!

I have one small problem at this point. We're using Americable cable service in Japan (US military cable). Using Zap2It Labs with ZIP code 782YOKO I can see the EPG data no problem but when I enter the same code inside Sage I get offered a selection of cable providers in Canada.

I thought Sage was using the Zap2It backend to generate listings for the EPG but it seems to be acting differently than I expected. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Check out this FAQ.

But, the built-in EPG is for the US and Canada, I have no idea if that would include the military cable that you mentioned. If you use the contact in the FAQ, they should be able to answer that.

If it isn't included, you could check out this plugin to see if it could be used with Zap2It's Data Direct service.

Hi Andy. Thanks for the answer. I'll check the FAQ and the plugin. Unfortunately, therein lies the problem - we are considered a U.S. cable service. The programming is transmitted from the States, by a U.S. cable company, and is also available to U.S. customers. We only have a custom ZIP code because of the time difference between the States and here. Since our programming is present in Zap2It's database (heck, even our cable company uses Zap2It to generate their onscreen EPG!) I would think that Sage's built-in EPG would handle it.

My guess is that it's the non-standard ZIP code that's causing the problem. It's been my sole complaint since I started using Sage at 2.0. I understand the guys are busy and the 3.0 changes are awesome, but unfortunately my problem doesn't seem to be on the radar for correction.

Saying the built-in EPG is for the U.S. and Canada is what bothers me, because our service is a U.S. service and it doesn't work in Sage.

Well I guess they mean services and time schedules that are available in the US and Canada... But you should be able to use the Zap2it plugin made by Digicasa to connect to an account @ labs.zap2it.com

That'll work and show the proper epg for your zap2it info.
