Question

Hi XSabre,
What audio issues did it fix for you? Is this a fix for NO audio on SOME channels? Thanks for the info.

I think that I spoke to soon. I now have audio on all the channels but (isn't there always one) it only works after every other reboot. So I have audio now but if I reboot than I have no audio on any channels.

Will have to investigate why this is even happening. This doesn't make any sense to me. Otherwise picture and audio are perfect.

Any one have any idea of what would make this happen? Thanks in advance..

Hey, I am wondering if this driver from Hauppage is really a fix to this problem? I downloaded it and tried to 'update driver' through Device Manager, and my computer wouldn't boot afterwards - got the blue screen of death. Maybe I am not installing it properly, or maybe it doesn't work on W2K???

Anyways, I gave up and am currently only able to record using one capture device, if I use both on my 500 card there is no audio.

You need to run Hwclear that usually comes with the downloads. Reboot your machine and point to the new drivers. Just updating through device manager never works.

I tried that, same thing.

Actually, I went through the post about the new driver at http://www.shspvr.com/smf/index.php?...48279#msg48279 and the guy who wrote the driver says he doesn't have a version that works on W2K yet. It is strange but it seems like the guy writing the driver for the Hauppage card doesn't even work for Hauppage??? Strange.

So what OS do you have? Have you actually installed this driver to fix the audio problem? Can anyone comment on this? PLEASE?

The drivers you get from SHS are early betas of the Hauppague drivers and they are from Hauppague. I never had the audio issue but many people who have and from other forums too have fixed the issue with some newer version of the drivers. (And you may want to consider upgrading to XP. Eventually you'll be left behind like you are with the newer drivers.)

Thanks for that Gerry. I actually talked to the guy writing the driver and he said he is working on a version that will work on W2K. I might try upgrading to XP.

Cheers.

Talking FINALLY!! Sound fixed on pvr-150

After trying everything for a yr. and a half, I have sound on ALL channels with both pvr-150's. Learned from another thread that new beta drivers were rececently released from Haupp. site.

Thanks Wade for the great info.

Wink

I am using the Beta Test driver:

Beta test versions

WinTV-PVR-150 base driver 20.43_24108
Base driver version 20.43_24108

It is from Hauppauge website. No need to run HCW Clear--it justs installs over top and revises the driver.
