Yeah, that was an interesting one. I've never messed with that setting, and I've never had that problem before...

One minor issue remaining - I had set visualizations to display song info since the built in graphics are so hideous.
Now that I've edited the STV (and changed the "always on top" setting), I get Milkrop OK, but after a while the Sage visualization pops up over the top. There's nothing in the STV UI that I can find to get rid of that. I'm guessing I can edit this line in SageClient.properties but what's the right argument? "xGraphics"? Or just null? music/visualization_style=xSongInfo |

I got the visualizations running in front of Sage (in the foreground) by clicking the title bar and checking 'Always On Top'.... but it doesn't stick. Everytime I reboot, I have to recheck 'Always On Top' Is there somewhere to permanently change this setting cause I can't remember to do it.... ? Thanks -JD |

The UnsatisfiedLinkError is indicating that SageTV is not able to load the plugin for some reason (and thats usually the reason). If not, check the troubleshooting section in the first post. If that doesn't help, send me a PM and I'll have some more specific questions for you. |

Drag...
I'm running 6.0.15 with the default STV and both plugin and visualizations are working very well.
I know you say "Drag" for the Studio modifications for the visualization - But as impatient as I am I decided to copy/paste rather than drag...Which causes the visualization to not work at all. May I make the suggestion to add a "(copy/paste will not work)" to the instructions? I can't be the only person to have done this (or, atleast I'd like to think so). =) |

Has anyone been able to get the Sage visualizations to stop appearing over the top of the Winamp visualization?
It happens after about 10 minutes. This is driving me nuts. |

Hi. Now that Sage finally has the unicode and utf-8 encoded tagging fixed on the media file importer, I find that this plugin is broken and doesn't play the files correctly. Can someone fix it PLEASE! See my screen shot how they look in Sage versus how they look after getting sent to Winamp. They play fine if I disable the plugin and use the internal player.

Hrm, now to figure out a work around. Probably these kind of albums I will encode to a different file type, and then just exclude that file type from the types that Winamp will be used for. Doh. Edit: Oh, I just reread that post and see that it should only affect the file name, but the tagging is ok to be there. Maybe I will just run a script to "clean" the file structures, and rely on tagging for it to look nice. Kind of a hack, but at least it will work, and I won't lose the Winamp visualizations possibility for those files like I would if I used my first suggestion above. Anyone got the visualizations working with the most recent version of SageTV and this plug-in?
It quit working for me (the visualization, playing the files using Winamp still works) several weeks ago, and I don't know what the culpret was...

Just guessing here...try turning off 3D acceleration. I found that Milkdrop and Sage were both trying to do full-screen exclusive at the same time.

You mean turn off FSE in Sage (it's not currently on)?
The strange thing, is nothing has changed as far as my configuration. Using VMR9, etc.

It caused a conflict for me with 3d emulation on. My video card is kind of primitive, it's a Radeon 7000, so YMMV.

Ended up making an autoit script to open Sage and set on top - in this case sageclient. You'll need to install autoitv3 first and then save the file below as "launch sage on top.au3" in the sagetv directory, if you use this script to start sage it'll be "on top" and the (excellent) visualisations should work sage client connecting to server1 (edit server1 for the name of your server) Code:
ShellExecute("SageTVClient.exe","-connect server1") WinWaitActive("SageTV Client") WinSetOnTop ( "SageTV Client", "", 1 ) Code:
ShellExecute("SageTV.exe") WinWaitActive("SageTV") WinSetOnTop ( "SageTV", "", 1 ) Jim |

I'm hoping there are still people around using this plugin for the visualization feature.
I've set everything up as directed. Using SageClient 6.3.5, SageMC 6.3.6a & Winamp 5.5 Sage is correctly using Winamp as its player, which is awesome. However the visualization is a little wacky. The window that's supposed to capture winamps visualization loads but stays black and says "Visualization Playing" in the top left. With Sage in full screen you'd think nothing was working correctly. But, if I do the same thing when running Sage in windowed mode it looks like this (picture of TV taken with camera): I have no idea how to toubleshoot this one. That's SageTV and Milkdrop on the taskbar. Winamp is in the system tray. I'm hoping deria, or someone still using this plugin, is around and might be able to help. Thanks! After many months of this not working, all of a sudden, with the change of one setting, I got it to work correctly.
In the past, when I've tried to start the visualization, I would just see a black window with text saying something like "Visualization started or running." The setting I changed, was to put a checkmark in the visualization preferences (configure), where it says "Minimize Winamp when going fullscreen." This is the opposite setting that the instructions tell you to do, as quoted here: Quote:
I'm using version 5.21 of Winamp, and after all the settings in the first post, and then this one modification, in my startup folder, I also have Winamp set to startup. This causes me to always have Winamp up on the desktop, no matter what. I thought it would just be in the systray, but that hasn't been the case. But now that the visualization is working, I don't really care...
