I was using this guide:

http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...t=xmltv+plugin

After step 2 the plugin should be available in SageTV, right?

Also, in one of the following steps, a file needs to be downloaded. This is a dead link.

I've been studying this issue for several days, I'd REALLY like to get the EPG running.

For step 3, use xerces from here.

Download the Xerces-J-bin.2.9.x.zip file and put the JAR files from it into the SageTV/JARS directory.

OK, that was of great help, thx!!

But now SageTV seems to hang, while the screen says "Please wait while the channel lineup is downloaded for XMLTV lineup".

Should that take a long time?

I'm thinking of writing a tutorial for Belgium, once I get it to work.

Yes it can take a long time.

You can also try to use my plugin (see signature). It should be much more easier to setup (the installer will take care of all configuration steps), and there is an Import Wizard to help you with the whole import process (and the "Please wait while lineup is downloaded" is much shorter as data is already converted for SageTV by the Importer and you can see the progress of the conversion).

You also have an "How to" guide on my web site to help you with the setup and configuration.

The most difficult part of the whole process is:

* getting an XMLTV file
* setting up lineups with the right channel numbers

Regards,
Stéphane.

I'm considering to simply throw in the towel and give it up.

After the tampering with XMLTV, I had to reinstall SAGEtv and now and now I only get audio, no video ... tired of it, it's probably not realistic
