Strange, I am still unable to get to the website. Since it appears to be a comcast IP address that the DNS is looking for I'm wondering if there is some strange behavior with the comcast DNS on my end. This is very frustrating since I am having this constant wait issue. Is it possible to upload your latest version to the sagetv customization download area?

how do you get dirmon to hide the showanalyzer window when it runs the program? i've checked the "hide console" check box, but it still pops up. i'm running the lastest and beta versions from the website. thanks.

This is not a Dirmon issue, but a ShowAnalyzer issue.
These would be what you are interested in. Invisible mode basically sets the 3 options below it to the "No" setting, at least, I think that's how it works...(actually, it ignores the settings, even if you have one set to "Yes".)

I use VideoReDo with Dirmon2 to create project files. The problem I am running into is that Dirmon is putting the jobs into active status before they are done recording. This causes VRD to not launch and won't process the next file until I stop/start the service.
I have "wait until the target file is not growing" checked with a value of 10. I tried 1-10 and it still does it. Is there something else I have to do to make it wait?

How do you get Sage TV with SageMC to read the Txt files. All my stuff was working, when it generated .edl, and .txt. Then I updaraded to the newest MC the newest SA and Dirmon. Now SA only seems to generate .txt files and my Sage with sagemc wont skip comercials. What am I doing wrong..
Thanks Mike |

When did you install (or rather, download) the newest version of SageMC? It's 6.13a, right?
There was a problem with a JAR file being named a ZIP file instead, and renaming it to have the .jar extension fixed it. It has been fixed in the most recent download of SageMC, so if you haven't downloaded it in a few days, I'd try that first.

anyone have suggestions on 0.6.2.44 getting hung on "live-tv" shows that sage deletes after dirmon2 puts them in the queue? i've tried all of the wait checkboxes with varying delays and it still gets hung up. my favorites get loaded into the queue just fine, but there's almost always a live tv file ahead of them that got deleted by sage.

Is it possible to have dirmon ignore all existing files and only process new files?

Yes. I have 600+ GB of recordings that have not been processed by SA, and would rather not have to process them.

Well, I was jacking around with it, and there is no real easy way to do it.
My suggestion would be to create a directory within the directory that has the 600+ GB of recordings. Then tell Sage to use the new directory as the recording directory on that drive(s), and remove the original recording directory called out in the recording setup location, but still leave the original location as an import (not sure you even have to tell Sage about the directory inside, because I think it's recursive). Then, you can setup DM2 to only process files that are in the newly created directory, and there you go. So, basically, this would be your setup, in a nutshell. C:/Videos/SageTV/ <---This is where your 600+ videos are. C:/Videos/SageTV/New <---Tell DM2 to process this folder only. Set the first one as a library import. Set ONLY the second one as a recording directory for SageTV, and remove the first one. What would be even better, is if we could get Jere to include a "created" switch, so you could filter the trigger by "<" ">" or "=" a certain date.

Well, that should work. I should have thought of doing that. I don't think adding the old recording spot as an import directory would be neccessary, as Sage will still see all the old recordings, it just won't make any new ones there.

Any reason you don't want to process the old files anyway? If you setup DM2 to only process at night, I would imagine, that with a relatively modern system, it would only take 3-4 nights for it to do all of them. You could just set it up that way for a week, then return it to normal. Have the SA resources set to where it can run 5-10 instances, and that should keep it busy while you're sleeping...

Well, actually my CPU in the sage server isn't very modern. I just wanted to try out comskip and see how I like it, although im planning to upgrade the CPU anyway since its not fast enough to transcode some videos to the MVP.
I had another question though if you know... Can SA skip videos that don't have commercials? I thought I had seen it had, since I see it can interact with the sage webserver (still have yet to install that) |

Yes, and that's one of the reasons for the integration with the websever, for channels like HBO that don't have commercials.
I don't have any channels like that, or at least, don't watch any, so I've never set that up. But it's my understanding, that is how it works.

Another option woulb be to creat a dummy .txt or edl file for each video so that Dirmon would not try to process them. I'm sure there is probably a one line dos command that would do it.... but I'm a little rusty
Alternatively, you could enable a short time out for the SA process in Dirmon and let it create the files for you. Then disable the timout (or raise the time) and just delete the generated commercial files and SA will reprocess them for real. Or Set Queue priority boost in Dirmon to a negative number for "Older targets" then it will do newer files first. |
