Porting to Gentoox

I want to port SageTV Linux OEM to Gentoox as a client. What would be the best or easiest way to go about this? I have gotten as far as getting everything installed but I don't understand how to configure Xorg, evilwm, or what ever the display needs to get something to display. Here is the error I get...

can't open display
xsetroot: unable to open display ''

No, I did not get it to work yet. I have givin up for a little while or at least untill the new release is out. It would be alot easier just to use a placeshifter than installing the way it is now. I don't know if the placeshifter will support the graphics chipset in the XBOX either.

Excellent support for the Nvidia chip in the Xbox. Just reference the Xbox Media Center. That already supports all the graphics features you'd need for a Sage Client.

There are a couple of Media program for the Xbox, are any of them based on Linux? Thats what you need... The chip used is specific to the xbox but it is based on standard nvidia technology. Surely someone must have gotten this working.
