Looks like you have been busy. I was able to successfully download the files from the first page of this thread.

Thanks!

OK Thought I had them. I just went and checked the files and they were corrupt.

Could somebody please post HALiTS and the SageTV HAL Plugin?

Screens are not all quite right under SageMC, so I think I'll do a little revamping and maybe see if I can get a hold of some of the other info that HAL is capable of retrieving from the internet (news, sports, traffic, stocks...).
This was the last post that mentioned SageMC in this thread. I know you are a very talented individual, and wondered, if you had this working and looking good in SageMC?

I've picked up an Insteon starter kit, and 3-4 togglelincs, and a powerlinc, and am seriously looking at getting HAL installed on my system, and using this plugin.

Is there a way to just use an internal menu item, and add that to the main menu? I guess looks come after function, as far as I'm concerned. As long as you can read everything, the theme doesn't have to match that well...

I can share it when I get home tonight (6-7 hours). I downloaded both downloads, and the entire site on how to set it up (or maybe it was just this thread, can't remember).

Jason,

I did start to convert some screens over to SageMC but it fell to the wayside. Other things came up and I never did get my HAL environment set up except for a few token modules. I would like to get back to it some time, but it's not high on the priority list.

Well, as long as it's still on the list, then that is good. I have bought a few more modules and installed them. Currently, they are running from timers in the USB PowerLinc. Eventually, I will get around to buying a copy of HAL to install, and then will hopefully have time to play around with this plugin.

How difficult is it to convert screens to SageMC? You need custom graphics? I know someone that is pretty talented at doing those...

You can use custom graphics for special features, but what I initially did just used standard SageMC themeing that would pickup the currently selected theme, and then also used some of the custom images that Bohica used such as the light bulb and others, I believe. But I can see adding some higher tech graphics for certain functions, like how I used MeInMaui's control head graphics for the SlimPlayer.

I see that there had been an update to Hal 2000 and HALi back in December. I wonder if that affected the HALiTS compatability. I was really hoping they would add the capability to HAL to accept voice commands over a network from another PC or device (instead of just the local mic input or phone line). I requested that but don't see anything like that in the release notes. That would certainly raise my priority.

Works great

I've got the latest release for Hal2000 ver 3.7.3 and run it with Bohica's interface HaliTS. I run the Stock STV, with a few add-ins.... Works GREAT! It's a great add-on that we use everyday around the house. It's really nice to have on the touchscreen kiosk in my family room. Everybody digs it, and it never seems to hang or crash. Hal2000 and SageTV servers run on the same box... they seem to play nice together.

Just an FYI.

Network voice recog would be nice.... maybe there's a way to do it... I use house mics and a mixer... so.. it's not really a need of mine.. but I guess I could have voice recog at work too.... hmmm...

Peace,

Wirenut

Three Questions

Hi All,

Okay, so I am not new to HTPC's and Sage at all. I have been using and loving it (for the most part) since version 4.

My Sage System is setup great now. Everything is working and I am very happy with my setup. So the logical thing to do is to try something new and i am sure break everything .

I have decided to go into the home automation realm and was extremely happy to find this little plug in. I just have a few questions.

1. Does this plug in work with Sage V6?
2. I have read the posts here and believe the answer to this question is yes. i just want to confirm. Will this work with Z-Wave products?
3. Which version of HAL do I need? I am only looking at controlling lighting and thermostats right now. I realize that this plug in does not yet support thermostats. At least not yet. That is okay. I just want to be prepared for the future as it were.

Thanks for your input.

I believe, someone correct me if I'm wrong, that you need at a minimum, HAL Deluxe for this to work. That's about all I can help with. I'm still waiting to buy my copy of HAL before trying this out.

HALi will not start

I have had HALiTS installed for about a year but I have not been using HAL since spring. I fired up HAL the other day to start working on some automation projects and HALiTS will not start. HAL seems to be working fine however when I open up the HALiTS debug window I see the message "HALi will not start. Likely HAL is not running. Will retry in 5 seconds"

How does HALiTS connect to HAL? Is there something that needs to be enabled (listening) in HAL that perhaps I have disabled?

HC

You are correct, and further if you demo the wrong one (basic) you are screwed.

I just use the x10 command line interface from ActiveHome (free and horrible), works fine for me thus far. Took me a long time to get the old ActiveHome software to work in XP but eventually I got it stable. Now I would like to use something like xPL and get 2-way communications going.

Voicemail

I've had no real problem with this STVi in SageTV ver 6.2 and stock UI.

BUT...

It doesn't seem to play back the Voicemail audio like it did in ver 5.0.... Did something change to affect the audio playback for this plugin... or did I botch something.... like a directory path to the audio? In the sageclient.pref's file it is the same UNC path.... so I think it would work... nothing's changed on the HAL side of things. It still shows the voicemail with Time and Date stamps in the Sage UI... but selecting one to play does nothing anymore.

Anybody else using this plugin and able to play voicemails from HAL via SageTV ver6.2?

Thanks,

Wirenut

ps. Hey Bohica? Any updates or Tweaks for this plugin?

Send a message via MSN to jaminben
Does anyone know if there any plugins which will work with SageMC 16x9 or even have a version working with SageMC and could point me in the direction of a tutorial.

cheers
