I have not had the problem, since I purchased the license for both sagetv 6 and Purevideo decoder. I was using the trial on both these, when I experienced the stutter problem. Ofcourse I uninstalled the purevideo trial and installed the one they tell you to download after the purchase.
Ive had no problems since then. Im happy at the moment, except the quality could be better. Quality is good but it seems like not quite as good as the original feed... |

What about the ability to make two or more sources exclusive.
I'm thinking of a question that has come up multiple times on the forum. That of using firewire to record from a cable box or similar. Almost all people who use firewire recording find that some of their channels are protected by 5c encryption and the stream cannot be captured. They have to drop down to s-video for those channels. The problem is that sage doesn't know that the s-video and firewire connections are connected to the same box. So if I have two favorites set that happen to be showed at the same time but one is on firewire and the other is on s-video, sage doesn't know it's a conflict and tries to record both. Obviously this means you miss one of them. Has this been addressed in V6. Seems that a way to make two sources mutually exclusive would fix and really make sage much more useful for people with HD cable.

I haven't been keeping up with this thread, but the things I'd like to see are:
(1) A way to get certain tuners to record to certain drives. This may already exist, because I've seen some reference to it. (2) A way to allocate more RAM to hard disc caching of some sort. The problem is, multiple HD recordings seem to put quite a strain on the hard disc systems, so it would be nice to see Sage start to do something about that. |

the line you need to look at is mmc/encoders/xxxxx/forced_video_storage_path_prefix=. YOu can specify a single drive or match to multiple drives that start with the same prefix(may require share names).

being able to switch tuners on the fly would allow me to just switch tuners change channel then 10 minutes later when i remember i was watching something else i could easily just switch tuners back, without even knowing the channel name or show. fwiw i used to use meedio and it had this feature. you could even pause one tuner switch to the other tuner, watch something , then come back un pause and skip past the commercial or just resume. |
