Yes you will need to uninstall, then download the version linked into the email you received and install this version (you'll not loose any settings).

Because you are not supposed to see a window at all when running the Importer unattended. To confirm that you are not running the donator version review your Windows Event Viewer log, you'll see a SageTV Utilities log and you should see inside this log all events related to the GUI part of the Importer. If the Importer is really running at midnight every day you should see a "Import Started" message.

Regards,
Stéphane.

Ok got it working. Just re-installed it and no popup.

Just another question. Where can I adjust the time of the import process quickly without going to the wizard?

Thanks

You can either disable the Wizard : check the first check box on the wizard, click on "Next>" and close the Wizard, then relaunch the Importer, you'll be in the classical interface. To modify the time settings, edit your XMLTV source.

Or you can just page through the Wizard untill you reach the time offset settings, modify it, click on "Next >" then close the Wizard.

Stéphane.

Are you talking about the time setting to adjust for the xmltv file or time setting for the importer to start automatically? (Thats what I wanted to know)

You can change the schedule directly in Windows Control Panel (Under "Performance and Maintenance" / "Scheduled Tasks").

Problems with importer and V6

Stephane,

I have the following two problems with the importer (donation version), well not really two problems, one is a wrong functionality I think.

With XMLTV I have split the TV stations to grab into 7 different .conf files. This is done to overcome the speed limitation of xmltv (basically 7 .conf files with 20 stations each are faster to download than 1 single file with 140 stations, being done in parallel).

With that said I end up with 7 .xml file containing the EPG guide of each of the 7 groups of channels. The importer reads this data and founds all channels there. They are all part of the "Satellite" lineup. On top of that I have defined 7 clone stations in the Additional Channels tab using a different ID but being set the same as the satellite lineup: I want them to appear as separate channels in the EPG: they are part of the Antenna lineup.

There comes the wrong functionality: when the imported runs it creates a db entry for each of the clone channels and for each of the source .xml files. Basically, having 7 .xml source files I have 7 cloned channels each in the Antenna lineup.

I think you should take the Additional Channels import out of the main loop.

The problem with the importer is that since I have upgraded to V6 (latest stable build) and using last 2.0c version, EPG data for the cloned (Antenna) channels is blank (No Data). I have tried everything (removed sources, blanked out the epg* sections in the properties file etc) but still no luck. I'm running out of ideas

I can provide you the source and log files if that helps to troubleshoot it.

Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!

I don't see were is the wrong functionality. Is this not what you wanted to do? Basically you have all the channels in your Satellite lineup that appears on the EPG and you also have 7 duplicated channels for Antenna that appears on the EPG (though I personally would have not changed the ID so as they doesn't show up as duplicate in the EPG => those are the same channels, they are only aired on a different sources. Not changing the XMLTV ID when creating the duplicates will maximize conflict resolution. That said I do see why you want to see those in the EPG => to be able to record (or not to record) specifically on the Antenna lineup)

There is no 2.0c version. You either have the 2.0s which is the free version or the 2.0 which is the donator version. So be sure to download the donator version from the link in the donator newsletter.

Well, first it appears to me that you have done the right setup. Could you please verify that in C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\3rdPartyGuideData you really have some data for you 2nd lineup (EpisodesXX.xml and ProgramsXX.xml are the files that contains program guide data for lineup XX)

I'll made some test to see if nothing have changed (I know for instance I added some code for skipping channels that are not in a XMLTV file, this code is dedicated for users that does have more than one XMLTV files, so as reducing search time : it a waste of time to search for programs on a specific channels in a XMLTV file when this XMLTV file does not have the channel node. This may be your issue if only one of your XMLTV file have the complete channels list; instead of each XMLTV file should have its own channels list).

Regards,
Stéphane.

I just made the test with one XMLTV file :

* I have a main channels list, I put all of them on one lineup
* Then I go into the additional channels tab and create two new channels. I created them with a new ID (for instance original is tf1.fr, I created tf1h.fr), I specified channel name, call-sign number, put them on second lineup and select the "same as" accordingly.

In SageTV I do have the two duplicates channels with the duplicated data.

So I guess there is a problem on your side. Can you check the event viewer log to see if any errors or warnings are listed. Then check the xmltv.log in the sagetv directory and also send me your channels.xml and clone_channels.xml file to lmgestion@hotmail.com for me to have a look at them.

Regards,
Stéphane.

Plus One Channels

Hi,

I was wondering if there was a way to clone a channel but change all the start times of that clone channel to create a <channelName> +1.

Thanks

Ron.

Ron, if you use Alan Birtles radio times grabber you can write some sctips for the +1 channels. Theres a post-processor that automatically creates more4+1, FX+2 and Paramount Comedy+1, if they're selected. Theres some info on his website at http://www.birtles.org.uk/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=171 that gives some clues. I haven't had time to research more.

Hi Doc,

I was hoping there was a way to do it in StephaneM importer so it could create the same program guid for both the live and +1 channels, thus eliminating my sage system from recording live and the +1 of the same program. However thanks for the suggestion.

Ron

I see what you mean. Stephane's importer certainly makes it a lot more friendly, it would be nice if in the add channels bit you could go 'same as' and then have a time change of +1 on it. I'm probably over-simplifying things in my head though.

I'm going to play a bit more with Alan Birtles stuff for now as I'm missing a few +1 channels and haven't spent any time looking into it.

The example I made (my real case) can bring to confusion:
I dont have just 7 channels in the Antenna lineup but 7x7=49 channels (each cloned channel is repeated 7x times, one per each .xml processed).

My bad, it's the donator version the one I'm running.

Yes checked and confirmed to be OK.

As said before I have 7 .xml files and each of them contains unique channels (no duplications between the xml's). Only one of them contains the 7 channels that are cloned for the Antenna lineup.

Thanks & Regards

No, you can't do it. But I'll add this feature in a future version.

So I can say that your issue is:

* You have 49 channels, when you should have only 7.
* Among those 49 channels, only 7 have guide data (or do all of them are blank in SageTV EPG?)

Regards,
Stéphane.

Correct: I have 49 channels when I should only have 7 and none of them has guide data in sagetv (there's data in the xml's but apparently it's not imported).

I'll send you all the relevant data to reproduce the problem.

Thanks!

Ok, this bug is fixed in version 2.1 that I just uploaded on my web site.

You can now do this in version 2.1, there is a "Time offset" column in the channel editor (for duplicated channels).

Stéphane.
