It's quite possible that 6.2 broke the import logic. I haven't tried it yet to find out. I'll look into it when I get a chance, but it might not be for a few days.

I'm not seeing a problem with 6.2. Are you sure you imported the right version of SageWMP, i.e. version 1.4 for SageTV 6 (and not version 1.3 for SageTV 5)?

Just to check the obvious, you're importing the STVI on the same client where you intend to use it, right? If you have more than one client, you'll have to import it separately (or load the modifed STV) on each.

Are you by any chance using localized menus? If so, have you tried it without localization, using the English-language menus?

Hi and thanks for the reply.

I will recheck and get back to you, but I think I did all that.

SageMC

Hi there,

I saw some posts talking about SageMC, and am curious if any research had been completed on this?

I read in another thread that changing the extension from .stvi to .xml will at least allow SageMC to *see* the STVi. But, not sure if it'll actually import it correctly.

Any thoughts on this? I really need something like this because the default playback is simply not functioning (many songs mute out).

Also...is there a way this STVi can play WMP auto-playlists? Oh man, if it could my life would be complete!

Thanks for any help...

EDIT: I changed the .stvi extension to .xml. The import worked, I had to add SageWMP to the custom menu, I was able to configure MP3's for playback. However, Sage hangs when trying to open the music player either via normal means or via the menu built into SageWMP's interface.

This STVI is designed specifically for the stock STV. I have never tried importing it into SageMC, but most likely it will just make a non-functional hash of itself, since it won't be able to find the various working parts it need to hook into.

Since I'm not a SageMC user, it would be up to someone else to modify the STVI to work with SageMC, or implement its functionality natively in SageMC.

There's currently no UI in the STVI for accessing WMP auto playlists. It could probably be added without too much difficulty. But that won't help you until there's a SageMC port of the STVI.

Morgan,
Any chance you'll get back to porting this to SageMC once your work on the excellent Netflix plugin slows down? Love to see this plugin work with SageMC

Not working in MediaMVP

Hi all.

I have just installed a new MediaMVP client. It works OK.

I have tried using your media player (which has worked great in my server) in MediaMVP and it does not work: When playing the same wma file that plays OK in the server, it looks like it is playing the file, but nothing comes to the tv speakers. It counts the seconds normally as if it is playing.

Is this expected or I am doing something wrong? Please help, I have a wholecollection of wma songs (not DRMed).

Thanks

The plugin uses WMP to render the audio. WMP is unaware of the existence of your MVP and has no way to pipe the decoded audio over the LAN to the MVP. If it plays at all, it will play on the server's speakers where WMP is executing.

Any ideas?

I was afraid of that...

Any ideas/suggestions? I have my cd collection all encoded in uncompressed wma. I was fine until now with the MediaMVP. Could you please suggest how I could recode my library to play in both the server and the mvp -if possible without compression?

Thanks.

According to Chapter 4 of the SageTV Manual, WMA Lossless is supported natively by Sage. So if you simply disable the plugin for WMA files, Sage should play them natively on the server and transcode them for the MVP. Worth a try anyway.

Otherwise FLAC should work (I assume you mean Lossless WMA, not uncompressed).
