Yeah, I noticed that once I fixed the brightness/contrast the picture looked much better. This worked good for me for setting the brightness/contrast:

BTW, it seems like the Hauppage defaults are way too high for b/c, I think mine are set to something like ~110 contrast ~60 for brightness (I can't remember off hand they might be the other way around).

So I'll dito the Good Luck.

Thanks so very much guys. That was the info. I was looking for. I am glad I am not the only one who thought the default parameters are in the toilet.

I have had no past experience with Hauppauge SW but have heard consistantly negative reports. If the video control sliders not sitcking and defult values that were obviously seleced by someone visually challenged are any indication, then glad I did not bother to install their app.

Thanks a heap. I suppose this process goes on for each card that goes into service!

Regards,
Dane

Yes, stanger89, I'm sure it was the other way around.

DFA, using SageTV v1, I don't think you can set the video proc amp settings for each card separately.

SageTV v2 is said to include a nicer interface for adjusting these settings and to allow you to set them per card.
