MKANET - correct...if you have a low speed data port then you can have your computer change the channel via a com port. I have 4 com ports on my file server along with 4 D10-100 DirecTv set top boxes. The file server changes the channel on any STB. You can get adapters but I just built my cables. You need a female db9 serial cable/connector and an RJ22 phone jack. Only 3 conductors are needed. Here's the diagram a posted a while back:

http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/atta...0&d=1141627126

MKANET - I have all my DVD's and mpeg 2 movies encoded in mp4 format so I have separate folders in my media library along with the Trailers for MovieTimes. When I play a trailer or Movie I have the USB-UIRT send a stop command before playing the movie or trailer. That's the nice thing about HIP is that it allows you to send several commands when pressing one key on the remote. It's also a lot easier to configure than Girder and doesn't cost anything.

Mike

I really love this addon, but I'm anxiously waiting for the next version which sends STOP command to the SageTV media player before playing trailers. Any ideas when the next version will be available?

Thanks a million!

Hey, sorry guys, things got really ridiculous at work again (still very busy). Anyhow, I'll try and get a release out on Sunday sometime that will add a "stop playback" command before trailer playback.

I'm also hoping to fix the directory browser stuff (currently shows weird stuff instead of the folder names).

If you want to try and fix it yourself it is just missing backgrounds for the movie list details screen and theater list details screen and maybe the times screen. I'll check again if you need the fix. But just define a background for those screens in Studio and you're good to go.

OFFICIAL DOWNLOAD PAGE FOR SAGEMC VERSION IS HERE...

OK, finished up the SageMC version of the import. The link to MovieTimesMain must be added after adding the import, just like the standard stv version. For myself, I added a menu button the the My Videos page that says "Movie Theaters" and added the link there. Let me know if there are any issues!

Upated the spacing and shadow in ratiings section of movie details page to prevent overlapping into lower display area.

Tried to install the SageMC version, and when I select the button, the screen goes dim and nothing comes up.

Must have been how I tried to drop the menu (did a copy & paste, that wouldn't work, but a drag-drop onto the new button worked fine).

Working fine now (with the exception of the data being required to be on my server machine, not on the client I was working on at the time, but that's no biggie at all, prefer it that way actually).

Does MovieTimes Main show up in italics as a child of the button you added? If not, then delete it, click on the MovieTimes Main menu, do a "copy", then click on the added button and do a "paste reference" from the edit menu.

problems getting my theaters

I have set-up my theaters and when I "load theaters" it shows them. I reboot SageMC and go back to the configuration and it still shows them. When I click on a movie, I get the standard default list. Is there any way to fix this?

Not following all this studio stuff to get this working in SageMC. I tried to follow the instructions, but don't see anything similar in "MainMenu." There is no MainMenuContainer in the SageMC STV.

Is there a way to have the import just add the menu item, maybe in the main menu, or in My Videos?

I just installed it for the first time, imported it into SageMC, configured it, downloaded mplayer, and am right now watching a trailer for a movie showing at my local theater ...

Awesome !!!

Thanks so much aperry for this great plugin, it adds a lot of value to Sage, and raises the WAF quite a bit ! And of course thanks to Morgan111 for porting it to SageMC, without this I would have never bothered ...

Hi geogecko,

do you have My Menu set up ? If not, do the following:

- enable My Menu in the main menu options menu (ESC on keyboard)
- go to My Menu
- you'll get an error screen, but just ignore it
- bring up the options menu
- Add new menu item
- Internal screen
- scroll down to 'Movie Times Main' and select it
- enter a name for the menu
- bring up options menu again, select 'save menu def file'
- bring up options menu again, select 're-read menu def file'
- now you should have a menu item which will open up the Movie Times screen

One question though:

I just set it up on my client and changed all the paths in the config file to use UNC paths. All the screens work fine, but I dont see any poster graphics, and the trailer playback doesn't work either ...

Any ideas ?

Thanks,
Dirk

Awesome. Thanks for that, much easier than using Studio...

One question though, what's the "N/a" at the top of My Menu?

LOL, sorry FB, but wow, this is such an awesome feature, you may want to think about maybe adding it as a menu item, you know, like through the options menu, on the main menu. I just thought maybe after trying it, you might be having second, thrid, or forth thoughts...if not, you can just choose to ignore this post!

Good night, which version of mplayer did you download, and did you have to download the codec package as well?

I have always used the version posted on this page http://oss.netfarm.it/mplayer-win32.php. Does anyone else know of a more current win32 build?
As for codecs I have quicktime installed with that mplayer and never had to install any codecs. I also have ffdshow installed, but I don't think it uses that.

Good morning , I downloaded "MPlayer 1.0pre8 Windows build" from here . Just unzip it to a directory, and you're done, I didnt need to install any codecs. For the command line I only specified -fs for fullscreen, and thats it.
