Hey Flachbar,
I am having the same problem as geogecko. I have no mainmenucontainer in Studio. I followed the instructions you gave to add it to My Menu and opened Studio again, but still no mainmenucontainer. I am using SageMC 169 v6.5, SageTV v4 and MovieTimes SageMC Import 055b. I wasn't clear on the instructions on how to load this, so I followed the non-MC instructions. I probably really screwed up here. I took the original version of MovieTimes and replaced that STV with the SageMC Import STV. I then renamed it from xml to stv. Then put them all in the correct SageTV folder. I put mtsa.exe and .xml files in C:\MovieTimes. Started Sage and imported the SageMC Import STV. When I try to add the menu item following the directions you gave to geogecko, there is no menu option to add for MovieTimes in the long list of items. Are there some more detailed instructions somewhere I'm missing on how to get this to work with SageMC? I still can't figure out why I don't have mainmenucontainer in Studio. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dana |

there is no need to rename the plugin from xml to stv, since SageMC 6.6 will only import plugins with the extension *.xml. So I am guessing that you are actually not using the latest SageMC version, but the base version SageMC_169.stv ... ? Check under "Settings' in the right info pane, do you see a line "SageMC STV version" in there ? Dirk |

Hi Dirk,
When I look under Settings and look in the right pane, the first line says Software Version: SageTV V4.0.0.56. I don't see anything for SageMC which is strange since I'm pretty sure I'm using it. Maybe I'm not looking in the right spot. |

STV=...SageTV\\SageTV\\STVs\\SageTV3\\SageMC_169.xml in your Sage.properties (or SageClient.properties if you use service or client), it should point to the SageMC_169.xml from the 6.6 download. If not, shut down Sage completely and modify this line. Dirk |

Thank you Kricker! I appreciate the time you took. I tried to reply back last night but SageTV forum was down immediately after you posted last night.
Unfortunately, this doesn't really fix the real problem. It look correct the way it is, but as soon as I try to re-import MovieTimes, it looks the same; which is inevitable when I try to load the next version of MovieTimes. I don't have any issues with loading ANY other imports on top of themselves; in fact, I depend on that since starting from a blanch SVI isn't an option for me. Aperry???? Can you please help so it doesnt screw up when trying to re-import? Again, I have no issues with other imports loading on top of themselves. Thanks, Michael Quote:

mkanet,
You can't load over top of a previously imported movietimes. That's why you get the screwed up display. You can't revert to an xml file that doesn't have movietimes imported into it? |

Nooo... that what I mentioned earlier. I "can" do this with all other imports!

Here are the ones I can think off the top of my head which work fine when "upgrading" to a new version. On top of all of those, I have my own customizations.

I just installed this last night. Thanks, aperry!!! I had a hiccup that I wanted to share...
I'm using Sage 5.0.4 and nielm's dynamic menus. I didn't bother with studio... I just added the MovieTimes internal screen to one of my menus, and that worked fine. I had a big problem getting the initial list of movies to load. I entered my zip code in the locations field, but when I clicked on Reload Theaters, nothing happened... the default list of theaters was there. I tried restarting SageTV multiple times to no avail. I ended up going into the locations.xml file and deleting the list of theaters from the <Active> and <Inactive> areas. Still no dice. At this point, I tried to run mtsa.exe manually from the command line and got an error. I realized that after doing an XP reinstall a few months back, I had never reinstalled .NET. So I connected to windows update, installed .NET 2.0, and then mtsa.exe ran, but now it was giving a different error which I thought had to do with having no theaters. So, after finding a couple of posts on the mediaportal forums about mtsa... I ran mtsa from the command line with the /updatetheatersonly switch, and it successfully pulled down the theaters for the zip codes that I included! I then went back into Sage, selected the theaters that I wanted Active, reran mtsa from the command line (with no arguments) and it successfully downloaded times and trailers. I don't know why it wouldn't do it from inside Sage... maybe it was because I tried first without .NET installed... but if you're having problems like this, try running mtsa.exe with the /updatetheatersonly option. I haven't tried the trailers yet, since I need to get either mplayer or zoomplayer installed. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to set girder up to control one of these without messing with sage? Sage is using the native USB-UIRT support for IR commands, not girder with sendmessage. Do I need to go ahead and switch to girder control of sage so that I can switch back and forth between sage and mplayer/zoomplayer control configurations? Or is there some command to tell sage to stop paying attention to IR commands? Thanks! |

aperry,
I have had a problem that has been repeatable. I think it is possibly an mtsa issue but thought I would lob it out there. I am using the latest import and mtsa. It does indeed download many more trailers than before and also movie posters. I have had a problem with the posters though. It downloads some posters but the poster is different than the name. Also some of the descriptions are completely wrong for the movie. I have attached my files and the jpgs of the improperly found items. I deleted the jpgs and the moviedata to force it to download again but I got the same results. |

I had that same problem with Garfield and the Fast and Furrious 2. Not sure what's causing that...

Interesting. I just did a test with the new version and all my posters are perfectly named. But of the 3 you listed, I only have "the devil wears prada". Not the other two. Are you sure you got the latest version?

It happens a lot more often when you select "low" as your poster quality, but not all the time. Thanks for your log.txt file, it will help greatly in fixing this. -Jim

I'll see if I can get in touch with nielm and see if he can tell me what I could do to get the reloads to work. Until then, I'm sorry, but you'll have to do the reload the old-fashioned way when any new versions come out. My suggestion for the time being would be to work with what you've got here for now. The next version will probably only be an MTSA fix to address the poster problems some reported. Hopefully, I can get this to be reloadable soon as well (with nielm or someone else's help). |
