So, after finding a couple of posts on the mediaportal forums about mtsa... I ran mtsa from the command line with the /updatetheatersonly switch, and it successfully pulled down the theaters for the zip codes that I included!
If at the point where you got .NET installed, if you had gone back into Sage and tried the reload theaters, it would have run mtsa with the /updatetheatersonly option. So, you got there, just in a roundabout way...

Glad it is working for you...

I was VERY lucky... I didnt realize that SageTV was keeping track of my stv changes. I found the stv with no imports...except for my own customizations... So, I'm good for now for the time being! But, yeah please look into this..

Until then, I'm sorry, but you'll have to do the reload the old-fashioned way when any new versions come out.

My suggestion for the time being would be to work with what you've got here for now. The next version will probably only be an MTSA fix to address the poster problems some reported.

Hopefully, I can get this to be reloadable soon as well (with nielm or someone else's help).

It happens a lot more often when you select "low" as your poster quality, but not all the time. Thanks for your log.txt file, it will help greatly in fixing this.

-Jim
Thanks Jim!

I didn't try setting the quality setting back to high. I only set it to low because it "seemed" to help the performance when viewed on the MVP. I don't view it from the MVP that often so I will set it back to high and see if that helps for now. Anythin else I can try let me know

Any idea why the movie info would be out of wack as well? Is it related to the poster issue?

I've found that the whole problem stems from the movie called "Click"... that screwed up the program! If that movie is in your movie listings, everything gets messed up including the wrong descriptions... DOH!

I fixed the problem, but I'm optimizing some other things... the new version should be out to aperry soon.

P.S. Anytime you change quality settings, you should delete the current media so it can be redownloaded.

Thanks, did delete the media after changing. Appreciate you taking a look at it and finding the fix. You and aperry make a pretty good team for this plugin

Question No Navigation in Load Config file Pop-up

I am trying to install MovieTimes on my SageTV Client.

Here is what I did ...
  • Created C:\MovieTimes and copied MTSA there
  • Copied STV and JARS folders over to SageTv Folder
  • Added STVi in Detail Setup
  • Added MovieTimes to Menu
  • Clicked MovieTimes Screen and Load Config File

Problem ... No way to navigate to C:\MovieTimes??

See attached JPG ...

Any ideas??

Thanks, t.

I think you originally need to do all of that on your server and share out the C:\Movietime directory. Then when you set it up on a client you could set it up as a UNC path. If you browse you'll see it in the dialog but you will need to edit it for the correct UNC path. There's instructions somewhere in this thread.

For those that view the trailers, how are you obtaining seamless play back? Right now I'm using Media Player Classic...Stock STV (With Imports) and Full Screen Exclusive. When I play a trailer, MPC starts full screen, sending Sage to the task bar. When MPC finishes, I have it set to close, which it does, but I can't figure out how to get Sage back to full screen automatically. Any ideas?

Try mplayer. It opens full screen, plays the video, then automatically closes and returns to full screen Sage for me.

Agreed-mplayer is the ticket. Use -fs and -monitoraspect 16:9 if you have a widescreen. Works sweet. Escape will quit the player if you need to quit. Right arrow fast forwards.

Can you have sage use FSE, switch out to mplayer full screen, then wake back up without Sage having any issues?

I think it was only affecting certain theaters with that listing. In any case, it's fixed in the new version for whoever was having the problem. I also included some code to include more posters/trailers for certain listings.

In addition, I also included a file called "quiet.exe" which when placed in the same directory as mtsa.exe, you can optionally run that instead in a scheduled-task situation to have it silently run in the background as a process without displaying a command prompt box. Include any switches as you would with mtsa.exe.

Wow, mplayer has a lot of packages. I installed this one http://mpf.dzm.hu/index.php

No luck playing the QT files though. Can you point me to a link for what you guys are using, and a quick setup?

Thanks,

P

Try this one from the main Mplayer homepage. Documentation can be found here. Along with command switches.

A couple of issues:

1) I seem to be having a new problem with not having the theater list using my preferences correctly. I have about 8 of 15 local theaters "highlighted" and organized, but when I go to the main theater list page to see what movies are playing, all 15 theaters still show up, and they're all listed alphabetically instead of in the order I arranged them in. Not sure if this is related to #2 below...

2) My wireless internet connection's been a little flaky lately, and every couple of days it appears that the connection is down when MTSA tries to run its update. Unfortunately, when this happens, it seems to leave empty data somewhere or other that Sage is trying to pull from and I no longer have the "List Theaters" or "List Movies" options on the main page anymore, just "configure" and "go back" as if it's never been configured. The only way to correct it at this point is to manually re-run the MTSA program when the internet connection is working properly, which will cause Sage to get all the correct info again. Assuming this isn't really a "bug" but is just a limitation of the way it's currently designed, I'd suggest a change where a failure to get updated data doesn't automatically wipe out whatever was there before but just leaves it alone until new data can be successfully downloaded. Would this be possible? Does this jive with the way the program seems to work for other people?
