Has anyone been able to get the SageTVPlayer (mplayer) to work for trailers? I had mplayer working great and even used HIP to control it. I would love it if I could use the repackaged SageTVPlayer but haven't had any luck. I left the switches like they were in mplayer but it never takes focus to the front. It plays but it always stay behind the Sage GUI interface. If I toggle full screen to windowed and back it flashes on screen for a split second then loses focus again. Really weird.

Very cool! It works just fine for me! As far as the SageTVPlayer goes, I did a little fiddling around and got it to work just fine. I had to change the switches as the previous "recommended" settings of "-fs -monitoraspect 16:9" had the video behind the desktop apps (kinda freaky looking) The following switches work great for me using SageTVPlayer.exe. Not sure that you need the -ontop switch but it works fine and even fixed a quirk when I used the HIP to execute a stop command. -vm -ontop -monitoraspect 16:9 John |

new mtsa version to fix trailers
I'm wrapping up the new version which fixes trailer downloads from apple... there was definitely a change at apple's site. It's actually easier to download their movies now code-wise I will post it on my site later on today in time for the weekend
For the record, mtsa "low" quality downloads apple's "h320" quality and mtsa "high" quality downloads apple's "h640w" quality. It currently does not download HD trailers (480, 720, or 1080). Is there any interest for downloading HD trailers? -Jim

LOL, "any interest in DL'ing HD trailers?" Are you kidding me? Of course there is...
Thanks for fixing that. I've noticed (as well as others) that I maybe get 5% of the trailers on my movies... I'm heading out of town, so I guess I'll be looking at installing this on Sunday. Can't wait to have the trailers back...

??
This may be a dumb question.. but I just installed this plugin and it all seems to work with the exception of "Play Trailer" or whatever the text to that option is... I have no client and I run Sage exclusively from MVP's.. do you plan, or can you already view the trailers that MTSA downloads via the MVP from this plugin? I've found that if I add the trailer folder as a sage import folder I can view the trailers as sage transcodes the quicktime file to make it playable.. but it sure would be more convenient to be able to do it from within your plug in rather than back and around and through the imported media files..
Thanks! |

new mtsa version posted
The new version is posted - it should download trailers once again from apple correctly.
While I was at it, I threw in HD support You might only be able to access these new settings in the mtsa config.xml file - explore at your own risk until Alan can add the HD options into his plug-in. I documented the settings in the config.xml file - HD1080, HD720, HD480, High, etc. if you want to go ahead and manually edit it. Let me know if you run into any problems. Note that if you enter in HD1080 and a certain movie doesn't have any HD trailers, it will keep scaling back in quality down to low until it finds one closest to the quality you selected. Also note that HD trailers take SIGNIFICANTLY longer to download... I have a link to the old version on my website just in case this new version breaks Alan's plug-in somehow. -Jim

Just a heads up, I did encounter an error when running the program. I sent Jim my log.txt file and the contents of the error message.
I was running in HD1080 mode. |
