Paul just got an update to Dugg to fix the loop problem.
You will have to clear your cach to do this put http://dugg.ueuo.com/files/newtkn.txt in your browser and it will come up with garbage and then hit refresh. Make sure you have enabled autoupdate in your config file and it will download Dugg 3.3. Working a lot faster now. regards. Last edited by ozfiles; 07-01-2006 at 10:46 PM. |

There's an automatic update option in the config file ?!?!?!
You obviously have access to a LOt more doco on dugg then what I have, I can't find anything that is related to an automatic update

All you have to do is just put autoupdate above mode=mp or mce what ever you are using I'm using mp "media portal" because mce will give a different output but it doesn't really matter.
autoupdate mode=mp service=94 service=168 grabdays=7 xmlname=1.xml xmldir=C:\tvguide\ rating=ABA timezone=+1000 |

Is there any chance someone can help me set up EPG?
Hello there, I have just finished setting up SageTV 5 with my dual tuner DVB-T card and it's working really well, but I cant make any sense of this XMLTV stuff, I'm in Melbourne, Australia, and could really do with some help.
Here's hoping, Fraser |

Hi Fraser,
I can sympathise with you in relation to that! I'm having a few issues myself with it but I'll see if I can help you out a bit ![]() Do you have Dugg setup & running? & is it outputting the xml file ? That should be the easy part. now you need an xmltv plugin from here http://www.sage-community.org/index.cgi/wiki/XMLTV I can' tell you which one I'm using atm as I'm not at home so I can get that to you tonight. follow the readme in the zip file you download (extract the class files to the sagetv\sagetv\xmltv directory & put the xmltv.properties file in teh sagetv\sagetv directory & modify if need be. Stop SageTV (including the service if you use it) update the sage.properties file so it knows about the xmltv plugin (again see readme file in the zip file you downlaoded), start sage & reconfigure your tuner setups to use it. That should be it pretty much. I'll be able to give you more info once I get home tonight (I'm also in Melbourne) HTH PaulG

Ta Paul for your prompt reply, I have dugg and it seems to be working, the problem I'm having is with the part where they say to "add/modify source" I can't find anywhere to put in "00000" and "trial", I mus admit I didn't read the readme file with the download, I just followed instructions in some US posts, I'll give it another try over the next hour or two.
On another note, have you tried a mediaMVP by any chance? what's the picture quality like? Cheers, Fraser |

Fraser,
It sounds like you don't have the XMLTV plugin installed/configured correctly. Unless someone else jumps in before I get home, I'll be able to spend a bit more time on this this evening (damn work gets in teh road of all the fun stuff!)

The only problem is the times are out, I'm guessing by our GMT+10.
Any hints? Man this is fantastic! |

Otherwise, do you have your regional setting in windows setup correctly ? Windows usually defaults to US regional settings unless explicitly told otherwise.

Welcome Fraser, lets see if we can get you going.
I'll start from the start and you can check that you have done the steps with your setup. 1. Download xerces from here. http://www.myhtpcresource.net/downloads/xerces.jar Extract the file to C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\lib\ext 2. Make sure Sagetv is closed and the sage server is stopped and go to your Sage properties which you can find in C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV and open with notepad and find this line, epg/epg_import_plugin= and change it to: epg/epg_import_plugin=xmltv.XMLTVImportPlugin 3. Download a xmltv importer. Now the one that I use is nielm's http://forums.sage.tv/forums/attachm...0&d=1084645698 Extract to C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV and it will create an xmltv folder at that location. 4. Get Dugg from http://dugg.ueuo.com/ and configure dugg to get your state epg and paytv epg (if you have foxtel) the xml file that dugg needs to download should be called 1.xml but since you already have dugg up and running you just need to rename your file that dugg has downloaded to 1.xml and place this file in C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV 5. Go to setup video sources choose one of your video sources and click on it to bring up the next screen. Click on EPG Lineup Use US, Canda, or XMLTV Guide Data with this Source Cable or Satellite Use zip/Postal Code and put 00000 in the box Lineup in 1.xml Your channels will be downloaded takes a minute or so and then on the last screen just click on Extended Basic Service but I don't think it really matters. Then just click on the channels you want to have show in your epg (they will have a green dot beside them) and click on Done with Channel Setup and then Finish Source setup. Unless you have another source to add and your done. You should now have a nice epg with all the shows listed. regards. edit: ok, you got it going, good stuff. I hope this will help others that are having trouble setting up xmltv Last edited by ozfiles; 07-09-2006 at 09:46 PM. |

Is it only me or dugg doesn't work? It runs for about a minute and produces no xml file. Anyone?

Nine have done it to us again.
The Dugg author is looking into it. I'm using the oztivo grabber as my backup and it is still a good alternative. |

Dugg
Last I checked (last night) it seemed the source of it's data wasn't available, or had perhaps changed so it couldn't grab the data, but I'm no expert!
hopefully someone here will let us know what's happening! It really is about time we had a free epg we could use! God I wish the fta would transmit the data as the dvb-t specs allow!all to busy fighting for bandwidth etc, then transmitting the bear minimum! cheers, Fraser |

Dugg
Ahh, second time we've posted at the same time ozfiles!
Thought that might be the case! As the owner of a Topfield pvrt5000, the epg thing is a real PIA! but so far I'm impressed with sage, and if I can get a MVP cheap enough, I think this may replace most of it.(howmany times are you watching something pre-recorded, then get tired and want to watch the rest in bed? This will be the best part of Sage (I hope!) Fraser |

I will be getting an MVP for my media center setup when I get it all sorted out. Cheapest price I have found for the MVP is $228.80 + around $11.00 for delivery. http://www.mitec.net.au/products.php?do=details&id=935 |

I saw another program (don't remember what it's called) for MS Media Center, which also grabs data off msn site but they claim it's using IE engine, so there's no need to decrypt, it just gets the end result as you see it in your browser. I guess that solves the issue with constant changes in encryption. Do you know anything about it? would that work with sagetv?
Oh, and we do you get oztivo? Thanks. Quote:

I do recall that program but I think the descriptions were very limited. For the life of me I can't remember the name of it. (as he goes off searching)
I put a setup guide for the oztivo epg here http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...94&postcount=5 You will have to install python but it is worth it to have a guide that its always available. regards. |
