Target stream bitrate capped?
Hi,
I'm evaluating the Placeshifter client over a 54G wifi LAN. I've left the Dynamic Streaming System enabled, expecting that interferences from neighbouring access points (my server can usually see between 4 and 7 of them) would cause the actual available network bandwidth to fluctuate a lot.
The Placeshifter stats attached confirm the broad network bandwidth fluctuations. The average bandwidth appears to be about 3 Mbps, however it seems the target birate never goes above 1791 kbps, even though there is plenty of data in the client buffer.
This noticeably affects the video quality. Basically, the graph shows that the actual stream bitrate is quite a bit lower than the available network bandwidth. So here are my questions:
1. Is the target stream bitrate capped? If it is, is the limit configurable?
2. Why is the actual stream bitrate consitently lower than the target bitrate?
Cheers,
Olive

Reason: Replaced the capture with another one that better illustrates the capping on the target bitrate
