Installed last night, good work kolec.

When playing a Sirius stream, the artwork is always the same...some old seppia headshot of a guy?

For some odd reason, the artwork only updates slimplayer the very first time a sirius station starts. I noticed that updating the artwork for sirius stations is a bit cluegy. However, song names and artist text does seem to work most of the time.

Okay, I think I have the main "gist" of it.

Some things I've noticed from using it & reading (here & SlimForum) and ?'s

I can add say, SkyFM as a Fav or Playlist (What's the diff/benefit of each?) and it plays everytime...If the IP changes (like old web radio), will it still play?

It seems you can't add Sirius as anything because the IP changes every 10 seconds. Which means you have to "Navigate". Can this be automated? (I think this is what the macro posts are about?).

There is a "Pre-Set" option in the Sirius plugin on SlimServer (where you can enter the channel number)...how does this deal with the changing IP? Can the Presets be added to SlimPlayer?

Anyway, great plugin...thanks kolec.

1) SkyFM (and other shoutcast stations will work until they change their IP's; then your favorite will stop working. I could be wrong, but *maybe* it would be possiuble to take advantage of the upcoming "macro" feature to dynamically tune into these stations every time. Chris would this work??

2) Chris is working on getting us the option to autmate tuning into sirius channels in the favorites list (as if they were real faovrites).

With Java 1.4.2_13, the higher quality mp3 plugin is locking up Sage 6.0.19 HARD! Switching back to JLayer fixes it. I also went into the *Player* settings in SlimServer and was able to move Sirius up to the top, as the first thing you see...a lot less clicks now. Oh yeah, apparently there is a maximum daily log-in limit for the Sirius internet stream

slim player hangs

I installed this yesterday and it seemed to be working OK. I was able to play a slimserver playlist without and problem but today (after a reboot) when i go to slimplayer in Sage it just hangs. If I flip over to softsqueeze the display is flasing rapidly so it looks like it is getting commands from Sage over and over. Any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks.

This hasn't ever happened to me (after a reboot). However, I think I know how to fix it. First, exit sageTV from memory. Then go into the Slimserver interface (web based). Then, go to player settings and select "forget player".

This symptom happens when more than one player is trying to access slimserver at one time. You can achieve the same effect by running one instance of sageTV with slimplayer active and one instance of softsqueeze.

PS: Happy New Year!

Is this possible?
Michael,
I think using up/down key to go from favorites list to macro's list is not possible, because they are used to scroll the list that has focus. I will try to put favorites and macro's in the same list and put the macro's at the top and possibly with aa special annotation to differentiate them from real favorites from slim server.

Happy New Year!

Macro's may work for this too, but beware that tuning this way will take considerable more time (maybe 10-20 sec). This is because each time slim player will need to navigate through the server's menu until it finds the right station (this includes getting info internet).

Try using JLayer MP3 instead of the Java MP3 plugin. There are issues with Java MP3 when using it with Java 6 (and 1.4_13).

Hey Chris, do you realize when you're done with this hybrid favorites list, Slim Player will have the most powerful Internet Radio favorites/shortcuts in existence?

As far as the aa special annotation... Would it be desirable to use the name of the slimserver plugin as the annotation? (ie Sirius Radio, XM Radio, Live365 Internet Radio, RadioGuide by radiotime). Or, maybe a custom user-defined annotation?

Happy New Year!
Michael

Thanks. That helped some. I am able to get into the now playing screen but every button I press takes about 30 seconds to respond. Even once I leave Slimplayer and go back to the main menu it doesn't clear up until I shut down sage and restart it. I'm on WinXp with an AMD64 and 1GB of ram. I have slimserver 6.5 and softsqueeze 3.3.

Are you running SoftSqueeze at the same time and same machine as the Slim Player (in SagetTV) ?
If I do that I can reproduce your problem. You should avoid running both SoftSqueeze and Slim Player on the same machine.

SoftSqueeze is fine playing Sirius...Slimplayer gets stuck at "Retrieving Channels", Any ideas? (Internet radio is flawless however).

Yeah, sorry for the delay. It has been a super busy month or so between doing vacation and a couple of jobs. I had hoped to get out an initial version on Sunday but found I was having some serious issues with the import using the brand new SageMC stv. I have some other things that will keep me from it for a few days but really want to get that out soon after that for my fellow SageMc'ers.

Question Can't launch SlimPlayer

It used to work and I don't know what is that I changed that broke it. Now I upgraded to the current latest (6.0.19), imported the plugin and it still does not work. To make sure all files are intact, I copied all SlimPlayer plugin files over once again, but it made no difference. By "broke" I mean it does show the Slim Player screen, but then immediately shows popup message "Error: found unresolved Classes, please ensure null is present in the JARS folder of SageTV". I attached my log file. Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks!
