I'm glad that there was an explanation for the problem. Have fun renaming files. |

If the ID numbers are changing or db entries are removed when you move files, you can try setting this property just while going through the process of moving things around:
wizard/disable_maintenance=true That might do it, but test a couple files first, as usual. - Andy

Thanks Andy. I'll definitely set that. Last night while I was renaming, I missed deleting one digit out of a file name, and when I restarted that one was lost to the Imported Videos pile for good. I could have reverted to my old wiz.bin, but it was getting late, and 1 bad out of 20 was good enough for me at that point!

can someone please create a document on this process - using UNCs, mount folders, changing drive letters. And put that document in a prominent place on the website and add it to the Sage user manual?

There is a SageTV FAQ written by Opus4 about switching to UNC paths, post #24. Unfortunately, its not very detailed and doesn't cover all the steps clearly. Opus4 needs to update it to include these info:
1. The exact steps that ToxMox posted in the other Switch to UNC Paths thread, post #10. 2. Warning of network failure either due to router problems or network cable unplugged could lead to SageTV losing access to all UNC path directories. This means playback or recordings will fail eventhough the video directory sources are located on the local server. 3. A work around of installing a loopback adapter to solve the network failure problem described above, ToxMox step by step instructions included in the other thread also. 4. Warning of MVP and placeshifter connection issues with loopback adapter installed, and work around solution which is to install SageTV 6.x and set the correct IPs for these two properties in sage.properties: miniserver/forced_server_ip= miniserver/gateway= 5. And if shows are not showing up in SageTV Recordings instead in Imported Videos, then setting this in sage.properties to fix the ID tag problem: wizard/disable_maintenance=true (Pending confirmation from Enormous that this works) There, I think that should cover it. PS, this thread should be merged with the other thread also.
