I can't see any of the logging that should be happening.

Can you try running from a clean STV that has only IMDB then RW Metadata loaded.

tried it b4 and just tried it again.

I am using Java 5 update 10 if that matters.

I take it back. I can see an error with Lead Actress, but I don't have a problem when I save the same title.

Can you check your date of nielm_sageimdb.jar

I'm running Java 1.5.0_11

I'm stumped. I'll have a bit of a play around with a bit more logging. It'll be at least tomorrow before I can get to it though.

I'm stumped too.
I uninstalled Sage and Java, deleted SageTV folder, rebooted, installed Sage 6.1.4 and imported IMDB 6.4 and metadata 2.03 and opened up Sage and tried again. Still the same thing.
They only thing I used from the old install was the properties and wiz.bin files. I will try with a fresh properties file later and see if that helps.

Uninstalled Sage and Java again, removed Sage folder, rebooted, reinstalled Sage with default 1.4.2 java. Did not use backup copies of wiz.bin or properties file. Imported IMDB 6.4 then Metadata 2.03 started Sage and guess what?

Same issue, no cast...

I Hope you can find something in that debugging log because short of formatting Windows I do not know what to do???

dvd_maniac, try this one, I've fixed a couple of "obvious" problems. They shouldn't be causing a problem, but who knows. If can you get another log if/when it still doesn't work and I'll need to spend some time on putting in some more debug code.

dvd_maniac, I can reproduce it. It's failing if Sage is not running as a service. I'll need to sort out an environment where I can play with that configuration.

dvd_maniac, It no longer works in SageMC when not running in service mode too. I'll submit a bug report.

John, you have written a great enhancement for Sage and I didn't mean to clutter up this thread as much as I have. Keep up the good work!

Is there a way to make Sage save info of past airings without actually watching them?

For instance I have shows that I converted from DVD to .mp4 and so I do not need to clog up my recordings schedule with them but I would like to eventually make metadata files for the series. If .properties support can be included into pdavis' TV.com parser then great, but if not I will have a hard time remembering to look at future airings to create the properties files every 2 weeks... If I mark a show as "ALL WATCHED" then will it save the info as a past airing? If not, is there any other way to accomplish this?

Are you talking about something different to what you get when you turn on
the make bulk my files? It makes files for all past current and future airings.

John
Just wondering if it is still suppose to do that? Because I don't get "Delete .my file" after clicking on "Make .my File".
When I click on "Make .my File" it has a slight pause and then i am returned to the main sagetv menu. I go back into the imported videos and where the make button was (and this delete button would be?) is blank.. nowhere to be found.. If a manually delete the .my file, then the "Make .my File" shows up again.
No biggie just curious..?

Also a couple of times the .properties file has had much less info in it the the .my file. I zipped a .my and a .properties from the same DVD to show you what i mean. This is no good as the wiz.bin gets its info from the .properties file right?

edit: just noticed that the few .properties files that failed to get all the info there .my counterpart did, were all Music DVD's. ie.. Black Sabbath: The Last Supper and Led Zeppelin. I can't see how it could make a difference but the .my files for them get filled with info.
Attached Files
File Type: zip myproperties.zip (1.0 KB, 330 views)

The delete buttons were only on the video options panel. I've removed them all in the latest version. Doing an IMDB save, it will take you back to the Main Menu.

As for the differences in data. There are a couple of issues. First, currently the core supports less fields in .properties files than .my files. Second, there is a core bug that means that if you are not running in service mode, some fields don't get saved. (It is fixed in the next SageTV release) With the IMDB save, I'm actually creating the properties file from the data that has already been saved to the wiz.bin.

I've tried the Led Zeppelin example you've given, and I get data, using the latest RW Metadata, running in service mode.

New Test version available in the first post.

(2.0.5)
- Rewrite of file creation buttons and options panel
- Changes to imported video detail display
- Additional options for auto file creation
- Option to always display .my file data even if other wiz.bin data exists

Ahh i see.. waiting on the next version for that is very minor, everything works except for those couple music dvd's..
I've been using it without creating .my or .properties for the most part. I just let the wiz.bin handle it all, unless it doesn't get much info then i make the .my file. but that should be fixed up in the next version of Sage eh.

Just wanted to say great job on this stvi! I will be using it mainly for filling the detailed info for DVD rips and for getting the cover art. It's so easy, 2 clicks and its done.

Kinda,

I am talking about using the make bulk metadata files but if I make them for say Star trek TNG I do not get many since I never watched or recorded them in Sage. Instead, I ripped and converted them to H.264 mp4 files from DVDs. If I use the bulk method "every" two weeks then I should continue to get more of them, but if I miss a couple of weeks then they won't show up in the wiz.bin.

What I am trying to do in a nut shell is to capture all episodes of a particular series in the wiz.bin without actually recording it. Kinda like a wiz.bin info favorite....
So when the next episode of TNG is on it will keep it in the past airings so bulk file creation will pick it up...
