I just got a new one (wireless, model 1016). I also own an older model, could be three years old now, which never did that ..

How often do those bleeps happen?

I've had them in .18 and since I just saw the .19 release I'll give it a try and see what happens.

come one, someone must have a tape recorder on permanently at home so that they can listen to their other half's gossiping............

one of those never ending tapes that keeps recording over itself every hour - there must be a computerised version by now, but you can't beat some of the good old fasioned techniques can you.

if only my MVP would bleep..... I've watched 2 movies and 5 episodes of CSI Miami so far but still nothing....

maybe someone at one of the TV stations sits there and presses the bleep button and then watches the sage forums to see if they can start a heated debate....

this reminds me of when you've installed some software, the PC reboots, and a message pops up saying "you should not see this message"

EDIT: sorry, I'd had one too many beer last night

ha ha ha. for me it's when I'm NOT playing anything or the MVP is otherwise idle.

I always hit the big green button when I'm not using it. Will try leaving it at the menu and see if I can get one to happen.

None of us at SageTV have heard the bleep in a few versions (maybe .15 was the last one?, and we ALL heard it before that one)...so *maybe* there's some other noise you're hearing which is due to something else and is not the same bug....I can tell for sure if I hear it.
I've heard the beep 3 times now while my family has been watching recorded shows this morning (within 60 minutes time).. each time it beeps the volume adjusts down and we have to turn it up again.. this is exactly the same beep and behavior we've all read about and many of us have experienced in previous versions. I am running the latest released version.

Yesterday was the first time that I've heard the beep during show playback. I have heard it intermittently in the past while flipping between menu's, but never (that I remember) during a show. I *think* that I had already upgraded to v6.19 (from 6.18) when it happened.

I can count on one hand how many I've heard in the past 3 months, though...so not a huge deal.

Matt

For everyone on this thread experiencing the beeps regularly, did you ever pulled the power plug out of the MVP to reset it after the upgrade to v6 final? Also, someone suggested to delete the "clients" folder but not sure if that matters or not.

Yes, I have tried unplugging and usually have my unit powered down. Such a weird bug to only have it happen to some people, and only with some releases. I was fine when other people had problems in the past. oh well.

I have unplugged/replugged as well and still get the beeps. It is frustrating because Sage tech support says "Did you unpluged/repluged your Extender?" ...then...."Are you SURE you unpluged/repluged your Extender?" Here we are asked then to prove it with an audio recording.

Enough people are still having this problem...that is the bottom line.

I have to admit I was joking when I said can someone record it, but it would be funny if someone managed to, just to prove a point.

I'm sure support are still trying to mend this.

I don't believe the request for a recording of the sound was for the purpose of proving the beep exists, but to hear how it sounds, in case that could help figure it out:

Yes I agree, the more evidence that can be provided, the more chance they will have to fix it.

Sometimes the most insignificant comment can be the thing that leads to a fix.

I still haven't heard one yet though so I count myself lucky.

I'll see if I can dig up a recorder and port it into the PC later this week. Sometimes I get nothing for hours; sometimes it'll beep 3-4 times in 30min.

You could always run the MVP into a PVR card and then watch that on a PC monitor...yeah it totally defeats the purpose of using the MVP but it will allow you to easily capture the bleep.
