Hmmm... i could also break out a mothballed pc and put my spare (unsupported) PVR in it and let it just sit and record through Haup's s/w. I think it has all the inputs I'd need. Wife would lift an eyebrow when I put a full tower in the middle of the hearth though. There are enough of us with the glitch that someone is bound to get a clip of it sooner or later. I've been home over an hour and haven't heard a peep out of the MVP. er...

and of course while I was proofreading this it went BEEP. about the duration of a pc speaker beep during POST, but a lower frequency.

I believe the bleep is less of a sound and more of a psychic entity..

It KNOWS when you are listening for it. As soon as you relax and say "hey, maybe it fixed itself.. BLLEEEEAAPP"

Thats close to my beep as well, though i get cracks sometimes too

Oddly, I left my MVP on for over a week now and haven't heard in in a while. I wonder if it has to do with the amount of time the MVP is powered up?!?

No clue

congrats on getting that recording though. That was one tough chore!.

For those of you who do not get bleeps. Immagine you are alone in a quiet house, taking a nap. and BLEEEAPPPP! at full volume. . Not fun,.

Well done, I'm impressed.

Its damn annoying I agree, glad I haven't heard any other than that one.

I've added it to my mp3 collection so maybe on a random shuffle I'll hear it now

EDIT: funny thing is it plays the mp3 on my server but not on the mvp... oh well

That's what I've always heard too. Although it doesn't happen nearly as often now as it used to.

What are the chances they fix this in the next release?

Did someone fill a bug report?

I just heard it for the first time yesterday. I havent heard it for the 6 months I've owned it. I did just change my network connection from a wireless AP to a powerline adapter. After that I changed the media extender conversion setting to High from standard. About 4 minutes after that I heard the bleep. I had just closed out a recording and it was sitting on the main menu. Nothing since so hopefully that will be it.

There has been a reference to it in the change log of pretty much every release since sage started using the extenders. Usually along the lines of "BUG: Possibly hopefully maybe fixed the extender beep issue"

Must be a hard thing to diagnose

Well, their web page lists an HQ of Oak Brook, IL. I live in nearby Schaumburg, il, so they're welcome to swing by and diagnose it there

Well... I'm getting the dang bleep now also! Happens rarely, but at any time (during playback, between playback, while idle but powered on, etc.) With Version 5, I only had a horrible and relatively loud "screech" between playing most audio files. That went away with Version 6, but now I get this low volume "bleep" rarely, but all over the place. However, I can live with the occasional "bleep" over the frequent "screech", until Sage nails the defect down and repairs it.

I don't remember this being an issue until 6.x Beta... For me, the first time I ever heard this was an "alpha" mvp.bin for 5.x, I can't recall so many complaints until 6.x came about.

It seemed to be fairly selective during 5.x. Not too many occurrences, but seems to be more prevalent with sage 6. I never experienced any during sage 5 but did with 6.

I don't hear it often, but did within probably 15 seconds of turning on 6.1.3 for the first time. Don't think I've heard it since, so must have been a fluke.

Perhaps it is inversely proportional to the uptime.
