Will a MediaMVP be useless in 6 months?

My MediaMVP plays the files almost as well as sage. The only stutter I get is immediately when the video starts playing. After that it is fine.

I determined that the files that are "stuttering" also stutter in Windows Media Player and NVDVD. They play ok in Sage. So something must be going on with the way they are encoded.
