Studio is kicking my a$$
I've spent about 4 hours trying to mod some screens and i've gotten about nowhere.
In the recordings list 1st screen showing the series, there are numbers next to each, 1, 2, 3, etc....I have successfully gotten rid of the blue background behind that. In the second screen showing the episode names, I can't find the spot to make the little blue back ground disappear. Also - in the popup from the first screen to the second screen - the one where you select "Browse Recordings" - how do i change the background here? Thanks, Ryan Last edited by UFGrayMatter; 10-28-2007 at 03:19 PM. |

(Going from memory here...)
Debug -> UI Components. Then you can go through the tree of stuff in the currently displayed UI, and when you find the object that you want to modify (highlighted in yellow on the screen) you can right click on it in the UI Components gui and there's an option to highlight that component in the studio window. |

Most of those backgrounds are themed, so you can change their color & opacity by editing Theme.properties, without messing with Studio. To make a themed item vanish completely, set its opacity to zero. See the comments in Theme.properties for details.
Might as well add the usual warning that if you do change one of the standard themes, save your changes as a new custom theme (i.e. in a separate folder under Themes) instead of overwriting the standard theme. That way your changes will stick when you upgrade.

You can't find the widget, or you can't find how to format the $Clock string?
There is a section about the clock display in the last chapter of the Studio manual (Chapter 9 - Misc Tips). - Andy

I found the $Clock widget's both for true and false for full date, but can't find where the formatting is, the properties for them are generic

Do you mean the widget properties? Stanger mentioned the UI Components window, which helps find a widget, but it also helps find the widget's theme source. But, in this case the theme happens to be just a few lines down from the clock's text widgets.
