OK I got DVD Profiler installed. Anyway is there a way to get it to auto profile the MPG files? Also how does Sage and the files match up to the Profiler database? I was adding names by title but can you associate it to the directory where the mpg is installed?

Thanks!

Neil

I got DVD Profiler to pull in the data for the actors, and genres and all that. It works well, however I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the artwork to do anything. I have tried the paths and changing them based on guides before, but it's just a no go. I have tried folder.jpg images, and I have tried filename.jpg images, and it just doesn't work. I can see all the images that DVD Profiler has exported, but I didn't really try changing the filenames of those. If I import the images as pictures, I can view them in the picture browser, but not in the Videos as artwork.

I'm on Sage 6.3.10, and I'm thinking by reading the release notes of the new betas that they have better support for this, but not sure if it will fix my issue. It's the only thing in my Sage setup I can't get working right.

I'm also thinking of putting the videos on a local USB drive instead of a network share. Will that make any difference?

Thanks for any guidance

Brent,

I think the problem is configuring DVD Decrypt. If i manually run it some of the movies didn't work. Part of the problem I noticed was I didn't set it to create one file and I think it was just renaming one of them to the proper name and the others were lost. There isn't a config file that you could share that I found. If you know of one let me know. Otherwise maybe its in the registry. If you have some ideas please let me know and let me know how you configured DVD Decrypt? Have you seen MPGs that don't allow you to pause or fast forward?

I'll have to check when I get back home. It should rip to one file though and then rename that one file.

No, any mpg should allow you to pause, FF or RW.

Actually I noticed that I can watch a ripped DVD but I get no progress on the bar at the bottom. Isn't that strange? I notice this is an issue with VLC as well.

I can also watch Harold and Kumar with windows media but I can't watch it with Sage. Is there a different mpg processing engine I could try?

Thanks,

Neil

I use that script also and I think could modify the script to work with DVDfab as long as it clears up my issue with FF and REW locking up on the extender.

dvd dycrypter dvds allow me to use FF and REW only about half the time.

I am going to check out DVDfab today

I started playing with dvdfab last night. A few moves that didnt have FF/REW now have it under DVD fab. If everyone else seems to have good luck with dvdfab also I would consider making the change to that script so it works for DVDfab.

It looks like you would want to add in another script to combine the .vob files as dvdfab at least for me likes to make seperate files.

Hey Brent,

Great add-on.

I may be missing something, but what happens when a movie is over 4GB?

+1 DVDFAB

That would be great! DVDFAB is being updated regularly and is my ripper of choice now.

It takes up more room? Not sure that it matters when the movie is over 4gb.

I haven't played much with DVDFab. Is it free by chance?

It is. I believe the latest is DVD FAB HD Decrypter version 5.x - their site tries to convince you to get the payware version, but the free one is still there.

Seems to update at least once a month, and also offers the ability to automatically start the main title when inserted - this helps with some of the invalid menus and missing cursor tricks that are becoming more prevalent.

How-to and script download
Is it possible to update your script for DVDFab HD Decrypter?

Thanks,
