What version of dd-wrt are you using? I use v.23 SP2 - I seem to remember having trouble getting .24 working. You could also try client (not bridged) mode.
It may also be worth trying Tomato - I have not used it but from its website it looks pretty neat - I may give it a go sometime myself. |

I am using v24 but have the v8.0 router which says v24 should work. i may try earlier versions if i can't figure this out. BUT--i can at least now ping my main router...just no internet.

Yeah, if you can't get an IP address from the main router, MVP will never work...
I would try resetting both routers to defaults. Make sure both are running the same version of DD-WRT on both routers (your are running that on BOTH routers, aren't you?) I am currently running the v24 RC4 candidate, newer RCs gave me problems... |

I didn't think it was necessary to run it on both routers, but it's been a while since I use DD-WRT.
Take a look at this link, it outlines what you need to do and it says you don't need the primary router to be dd-wrt. As far as it knows the client bridge is just another connection. http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wireless_Bridge hope this helps. |

hrm...I guess it appears possible, but you're in unknown territory for me
![]() I'm running DD-WRT on all 3 of my routers (1 main, 2 bridged to the main) I just don't know how the bridging mode works well enough....so I may be talking out of my @#% here, but.... For example, the main router does assign an IP address to the 2nd router (or set manually), so essentially another device behind the 2nd router's IP address is asking for another IP address. If the main router isn't programmed to expect this, not sure how it would handle it... |
