Chande display font
Is there any way to change the default serif font in the display? I looked through some of the files but did not see anywhere the font face is specified.

font-family:"Arial"; You would have to close and re-add the gadget (or restart the PC) for the change to take effect.

IE 9
Has there been any update on getting this plugin to work with the IE9 beta installed?

No, I will take a look when IE9 is released if there still are problems.

Ok, thanks. I can tell you that I just downloaded an update for the IE9 beta today and the problem still exists.
I'll keep checking back. |

I continue to be unable to get this gadget to work on Sage V7. As I posted above when I first built a V7 server I could never get it to work.
I am just turning up my new, permanent V7 server and I still cannot get the gadget to work with V7. I currently have three Sage servers running, a V6 server and two V7 servers and I just cannot get the gadget working with the V7 servers. The Sage Web client is working fine on all machines but for some reason I cannot get this to work. Any suggestions?

Make sure the the User name and Password in the gadget are using the proper case. I encountered problems with my gadget and got that error with I had upper case instead of lower case. I believe an update to Windows 7 changed something to be case sensitive.

I haven't changed the auth stuff so I am still with sage, frey for my login and port 8080. There really isn't much to get wrong - the only other item to enter is the server and I have tried the IP address as well as the server name with no luck. And when I click on the SageTV logo it opens up a web page without problems.

Sorry, I don't know why you can't get it to work. I recently installed a Windows 7 / Sage 7 server from scratch and didn't have any problems. I think you were using SSL before. Are you trying it without that and you are not using IE9, right?

I am betting that this is an authentication issue - are there any logs I should look at?
I am not using SSH and I am using IE8.

Sorry, there really aren't any logs to look at as it uses Microsoft's built-in xml parser to connect. In general, detailed error messages are not given but I'll see what I can do if/when troubleshooting IE9.

Gadget Crshing
This is a great gadget for Windows 7 I really like it. But for some reason I can't get it to stop crashing the Windows 7 Gadget bar. When I have SageTV gadget running, gadget will crash every now and again. When I remove SageTV gadget, gadget never crashes. I use 3 other gadgets along with the SageTV gadget and them alone don't cause gadget to crash. Is anyone else experiencing anything like this? If so were you able to stop gadget from crashing? And how?

Yea, I have the same thing happen. All the gadgets crash probably about once or twice a day because of it.

I have been using it in Windows 7 for a long time and never have had any crashes. I can't imagine any problem that would take down the whole gadget system. Does it give any errors?

The next time it happens I'll record the crash report. Would that be useful for you? BTW, I'm running Windows 7 Pro x64 if that makes a difference.

It's unlikely but you never know... I am also using x64 Windows 7 but Home Premium, not Pro. I guess this could make a difference but I don't know.

Here's what I got out of the event log. It doesn't happen all the time. Just every once in a while.

I'm not really sure about the error but I have something for you guys to try anyways (connects to the server a little differently). Close the gadget and overwrite the sage.js file in the gadget js folder ("C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets\SageTV_1_4.Gadget\en-US\js") with the attached zipped file. I'm not expecting much but see if it helps.

I know it doesn't help those who are having a problem but, in case it helps to focus debugging, I want to let everyone know that I'm running Windows 7 Pro x64 and have never had a problem with the SageTV sidebar gadget crashing.
