I can't watch for more that 5 minutes without it locking up and re-booting. There's load of comments about this in the extender forum...

Yep I'm on the latest Beta Firmware and Yep I also go stuck with £37 VAT/duty
I had the same problem with my HD100, I changed to a static IP address and it fixed it. This might be worth trying if you are using a dynamic IP address.

Thanks, done that without success HOWEVER things have stabilised now but I don't know how I achieved it. Picture quality is still, well errrr, a little iffy but it could be the source material.

BUT at least I can watch TV now Whoo Hooo !

Woohoo... I finally have my HD200 (I shipped via a mate in the states, who 'tested' it out for me) I've connected via component cables to my flat panel and it just works. One thing I've noticed is that the fonts aren't as sharp on the HD200 than a client PC connected to the same panel. I don't know if this is due to the HD200 or something to do with the component connection (and the cheapo component cable I bought!)

I also noticed that since it runs Linux, you can telnet in and log in as root ! (no passwd required) I know that the configuration settings are downloaded from the server at boot time but isn't this is a bit of a security hole ?

Only if there's a hacker in your house or if you allow unfirewalled access to all your machines from the internet...

No and no, just seemed a bit odd thats all. I'm sure if I set a passwd it will break, so I will leave it alone !

I think its due to the HD100/200 using a strange resolution for menus not like your PC client which was proberly running @ 1280x720 or some other HD resolution.

I guess you're right. The panel's resolution is 1366 x 768 which windows supports. I played with the different resolutions on the HD200 and none of them are as sharp as the PC

Still, the missus hasn't complained and the snapiness of the response makes up for it.

cheers

I forgot to ask - does everyone else see sharp fonts on regular LCD TVs ? (Mine's a rather whacky pc cum flat panel)
