I loaded this driver: Driver Release 7.6.1.27090 (3/31/09)
successfully, I am glad I had this already because the FTP directory /Support/HVR2250/ at haupauge.com is empty. See prior post above for link. Scat

Has anyone tested the new update driver 22xxdrv_27118. I too experienced the x64 issues with 20791 beta driver but found that the 20790 worked great for me. I am curious to know if this new update driver is problematic or worth the update.

The lack of changelog is what has me scared to try this update. I was hoping someone else with Vista 64 was more adventurous than I am. I am running two 2250s in tandom and have since waved bye bye to my old analog tuners. I'm too much of a chicken to test this.

Don't be afraid... just install and see what happens! Worst case you can uninstall and revert back.

OH... MY... GOD...
This fixed it. A solid day of my life wasted. I was up until 4am last night because I wasn't going to rest until I could fix it. On my system, I was running 2 2250's under Windows 7 or Windows XP Pro, with 3 different motherboards (I was at my wits end), with just about every combination of hardware/software/chipset possible. A single 2250 could record 2 analogue channels no problem. With two 2250's in the system, it would always stutter and crap out as soon as you added the 3rd channel to record - actually mess up SageTV after a while. I hunteded everywhere for bleeding edge drivers - but the best I got from hauppauge was 27086 - these 27090's work great. I've got 4 analogue channels recording at the same time - Now I just have to put together 3 computers that I pulled apart to try and make this work. :-) |

Just curious; are you getting Sagetv to work with Windows7 RC??
Thanks, Randy

I have Sage running perfectly fine with Win7 RTM and a Avermedia m780. I don't have this Hauppauge card yet, but hopefully I will soon trade in this m780!

The build I have is referred to as RTM, but MS may make another build before it's all said and done. I can tell you everything is working fine though, now if I just had one of these 2250s.

Just wondering about these drivers
I tried them on Win 7 x32 and it found no hardware, ran it on win 7 x64 and it found no hardware. the drivers that come with it 7118 install fine. I am wondering if it installs correctly though? When I go into device manager I see only 1 card - Hauppauge WinTV - HVR-2250(8891)
Is this consistent with everyone else? I read all about setting it up in sage, but wanted to see if it's like this for others or do others see 2 cards? Thanks! |

OK, so I was using Vista as my server because I had the PC directly hooked up to the TV. I recently bought a HD-200 and I wanted to switch to Windows Home Server. I had tried it out before and it worked. I am using the latest 27118 drivers and when I go to watch TV, I get garbled video/audio and then the blue screen of death on the WHS PC.
I am guessing this is an issue with the Hauppauge drivers. I didn't have time last night but I am going to try to uninstall and revert back to a previous version. Just wondering if anyone on WHS has updated to the 27118 drivers and if they had any issues. Thanks

I just had this same thing happen (garbled video, then BSOD on my WHS box...). I'm going to try the drivers that are linked to Sage's servers (first post in this thread), and see if the slightly older version fixes the problem.
The weird thing is, I never had any problems with the drivers that came on the CD before now, but had to recently re-install my WHS machine (system drive died, and caused no end of grief, couldn't even get the re-install option to work, had to start my WHS machine from scratch ). I have 2 of the 2250's in my machine, and it always just worked before the re-install. No go after, and had to load the newer drivers (tried the 118 version first, going to try 090 now). Ok, tried using hwclear to clean out the hauppauge drivers, that worked fine. Upon reboot, I tried to load the 090 drivers, and every time I try, the system crashes to a black screen, becoming unresponsive until I hit reset. Same thing now with the 118 drivers. Going to see if I can go back to the CD drivers now, but I'm at a complete loss... **EDIT** I removed PP3 from the WHS server, and the 090 drivers installed fine, no problems. If everything continues to work, I'll reinstall pp3 and see if it stops again. It's looking like there's an incompatiblity between PP3 and the Hauppauge drivers tho. **EDIT #2** Seems like there's still a problem. Had some issues with Sage locking after the 090 drivers, so I wiped them, to put back on the 4.7 CD drivers, and it's locking during install AGAIN. As far as I know there's nothing different about this install than there was in the initial install I did back in Feb. so I'm at a loss. **EDIT #3** There's a newer version of the drivers up on Hauppauge's FTP site, 7.6.27.27198. That one seems to have loaded ok, I'm rebooting and checking the system to see if I still get crashes during records. I'll report back on any success or failure.. **EDIT #4, lol ** Same crashes in Sage, tried to remove and re-add the tuners, and now it's just sitting there, spinning the circle. Going to reboot the server, and try one last time. I STILL don't understand why the system crashes to a black screen when I try to load the other Hauppauge drivers, this is the exact same hardware (minus the original HD) in the exact same configuration that I was using before, without ANY issues...

I haven't dared -- i'm still running ancient beta drivers since they work, seemingly perfectly. I'm loath to change anything on my sage box since it all pretty much works exactly how I want, except for one thing, which is I think fixed in the latest SageMC update, which would mean upgrading sagetv too... I'm sure I'll do it someday, but probably not soon.

I'm running the old 090 driver - working fine. But curious if the new drivers work and if they improve anything...

I finally upgraded to the 27223 driver and all is well. I can't say I noticed any improvements -- I was hoping to get clear QAM support, but still no luck with that -- not sure if it's my cable company, or the drivers.
