Listeners
Hey,
still being new and working my way through the guide, I was wondering if someone could explain to me or point me in the right direction to where the definitions for the listeners are? I understand what listeners are and what they do, but on an individual basis I'm somewhat confused. For example, what does left do versus right? |

Listener widgets react to commands received by SageTV and are described in the Studio manual, starting on p. 35. After reading that, what part are you asking about?

I understand the concept behind listeners, but the manual never goes into depth about what "right" or "right/Volume up" would produce.
I am still a little confused about what listeners to put in different places. |

The "right" listenner gets triggered (executes the widgets below it) when Sage recieves the "right" command.

P. 35 of the Studio manual explains how dual-use listeners (such as Right/Volume Up) are handled. If that explanation isn't making sense to you, you could try creating a test STV with listeners for Right, Volume Up, and Right/Volume Up, and use Expression Evaluator to call the SageCommand() API method with various commands in order to see which listeners get triggered by which commands.
