Network Setup questions

Well I have been running Sage for last couple of months and I am very happy with the product. My motherboard died last week and I was forced to swap it out for a different board. Now my mind is looking at maybe having a machine local and running a couple of PVR 250's in that box and then a main box at the tv running SageTV client. My concerns revolve around the network end of things. I rebuild and mess with my network quite frequently and so I am concerned about losing shows I have recorder across the network.
What is the best way to do this, the network is all wired so bandwidth should be ok. I am thinking maybe all the recording should be onto the box with SageTV running on it and that the client box could also have tuner running there also (maybe a 350 by itself), would I need Sage recorder to do this? i.e. if the network is down Sage recorder would still record the show?
With Sage recorder, if I set it up with Sage as a network tuner, does it store it's recording info locally and so can record locally and then later be accessed by Sage TV or does Sage still have to have fulltime access to the network where the show is stored?
Not sure if I am explaining myself too well here. My main concern really is that if the network is down that I don't lose the programme info of shows recorded over the network.
Any ideas? What works best?

Your recording will take place on a cross mounted directory so you will not lose your recordings. Worst case you you lose part of any recording currently occuring on the client. If your client goes down before a scheduled recording, SageTV will attempt to record on other available tuners which may result in conflict warnings.

So SageTV will still be able to access to program info of a show on that drive even if the network has been down and Sage TV had a restart?
The loss of show info on recorded programs is my main issue here. If I setup Sage recorder on a server machine does it support multiple tuner cards? i.e. could I have all the tuner cards in one box running Sage recorder and then Sage TV on the machine used for playback on the tv?

If you record to a directory/drive that is located on the same machine as the SageTV server, loosing program info won't be a problem.

I presume that a normal wired network should have no issues with playback and record across the network simultaneously?

Normal Fast Ethernet (100Mb) should be just fine.

Yeah,, using Linksys setup and is supposed to be 100mb duplex. So that should be fine I would think.
