I finally found the solution. If anyone else has the same trouble I did if you resize the video to 640x480 with the letterboxing option checked the bars disappear. Hope this helps someone..off to try to fix the other problems

I'm having a different problem with Nero Recode.
I encoded a show that I had recorded with Sage. And it worked fine with the default settings. No playback issues, with either Showtime or WMP. Then I went to doom9 and followed some instructions there about using Recode, and I changed some settings to tweak the visual quality. Then I encoded another show, with the new settings. It was a large file (12 gigs, 6 hour show) and I wanted to shrink it down to fit on 1 dvd. The whole process took 13 hours. And the Nero log file says everything worked fine, and I have a new 4 gig mp4 file on my computer. But when I go to play the file in Showtime, I get the following error: Cannot play this media file ClassFactory cannot supply requested class (0x80040111) And when I try in WMP, I get an error downloading codec error. Anyone have any ideas? I haven't tried to encode it with the default settings yet, because it took so long the first time. But I'm afraid I might have to. |

What happens when you play it in Nero Showtime?
