I know you said you were gonna scrap some features for the first release or beta or whatever, but I would love to know when you plan to add the ability to play trailers before the move?

I'd also like to know how that would work exactly. Where can you play trailers from? Will you be able to download them automatically?

Sorry if I'm getting ahead of myself, but that sounds really cool.

I am also looking forward to this release. I currently have about 700 movies and no way to truly manage them. It is getting out of control.

Waiting with great anticipation.

Is there anything I can do to start cataloging/preping my movies? I want to be ready for when the sage interface is complete.

You are getting a bit ahead of me but not by much. This feature I actually plan on having on initial release. I don't plan on supporting individual trailers per movie or internet trailers on release.

The feature will work pretty simply

ScreenShot

Basically that is in the collection manager interface. You will point it to your intro trailers and before movie trailers folders. Within those folders you will have all you opening/intro trailers. You will also select how many trailers you want to play before each movie and in what order (random or alphabetically).

Those to folders you will not want as import directories in sagetv as they will be in a constant state of change as trailers are added/deleted and you don't need those getting imported.

Then from there if you have it enabled when you hit play on a movie it will be automatic. (I will have a shortcut to not play intros/trailers as well as there may be times when you don't want too even with the setting on.)

if hit hit up the link below
Download link

The is the app I use to autodownload new trailers and it seems to work pretty good. They are hd quality trailers.

Hopefully that answers your question if not let me know.

ps here is some good instructions for creating your own intro/trailer which i like
how to intro link

cheers

You need to go ahead and setup your collection manager for MyMovies. Which version you need depends on your setup. I recomond the WHS version if you are running a WHS server.

Also when setting up your directories remember below

1. Your movies must be in their own folders (all movies can't be under one folder).
If your movies are under one folder please use this tool to move them into their own folder. (I am only providing this link as a reference I know people who have used it and had no issues. I do not support that tool or troubleshoot problems with it).
Link for Tool
2. The import directories must match what import directories you are using in sagetv.

Ie you can't use \\\server\videos\moviename in sagetv and
C:\videos\moviename in mymovies collection manager the paths must match.

I am going to post this on the first page for reference.

Downloads of collection manager can be found here

Give me some inspiration....

Show me Info Views you guys like can be from any platform xbmc, wmc, sagetv, beyondtv.Whatever need to start tying down a good solid info view. Only going to have one out of the gate so it has to be good.

Looking for something clean and simple yet providing good amount of detail.

Please give me some ideas/inspiration screenshots of stuff you like open to anything.

Here are a few I like...

this one is ok

This one is also nice...

I still use the newest AMIS. This is one of the best to me... I'll post a screenshot of the way I have it set up later. A tweaked AMIS would be a great info screen.

I like that one too. It just needs some tweaking. I think it may be a little crowded...

This is what I currently use and since it is no longer being updated I'm stuck here at the moment.

I really like it, but it needs some love. I'm not very creative, I just play around with the options given to me and make the best of it.

Been a while since I showed anything really new and exciting on the screenshot side so I figured why not today.

This is a Poster View meaning it uses movie release posters not covers of movies. (these will be automatically downloaded from mymovies server for you )

Here is the view with the titles on
PosterViewTitles

Here is the view with Title off
PosterViewNoTitles

The transparency of the inactive(unselected) posters is of course adjustable here it is about 75% of the focused posters. The reason for limiting the number of posters on this screen is because they are higher resolution and therefor need to keep it extender friendly. Plus IMHO it makes them very viewable and nice on a TV screen. This view is not 100% done yet but the basics are there.

Also can't take full credit for this view as I stole the idea from another ui out there And My picky man Ben helped me sort out a couple of things

Hope you enjoy

I really like this. I have always been fond of the movie release posters that are made for most movies. I'm excited to get this going as soon as possible!

Set up Collection Manager

I am hoping for a little guidance here.

I run SageTV on a headless server running XP. All my playback is over my 2 extenders (1 HD100 and 1 HD200). I have set up my movies on the server so that they are each in their own folders and installed MyMovies collection manager on my desktop. I have gone through some of my movies and downloaded the covers etc and it has populated my folders with the .jpg and .xml files.

Did I do this wrong?

Should I have run the Collection Manager from the server? Is there a database file that needs to also reside on the server? Could I run Collection Manager on the server using VNC?

Can you tell I'm already way over my head?

BTW, this looks like the best addition to my SageTV setup since SageMC!

How did you install it on your desktop (the collection manager) as a server/client or standalone? I would suggest installing it on your headless server as a server and then doing a client install on your desktop and pointing it to the server. You can manager the collection from the client the same.

But yes one instant (either client or server) must be running on your server.

Thanks, Plucky.

I am pretty sure I installed it as a server on my desktop. It sounds like the best solution will be to go back and install the CM server on my server... DOH!

I am assuming that then I could use the client install on my desktop to search and update the movies on my server.
