Out of curiosity, are the pop-over menus that come from the left side a design element in the Sage v7 stock interface, or is that something unique you did for My Movies?
Those are mine, but sagetv has pop in menus on the right. I may move mine but I didn't see theirs until after mine was done. Theirs is different though and does not feature the popouts like mine. Theirs still works very well.

If you have a whs use the whs version.

Otherwise just the collection manager is all that is needed for sagetv.

The interface looks incredibly smooth. Will it be this smooth on the HD100 Extender as well?

I believe I read that there were reports that the hd100 ran as smooth as a hd200 on v6

That would be me...

My experience is that everything has been sped up. Some of the things that now happen in the background allow the UI to feel very fast. eg - scrolling down a long list of songs/videos, in v6 , the hd100 and even the hd200 would choke and pause - now the scrolling is super fast. The "old" interface is also very fast.

On the HD100, you still get some lag(0.5 sec or so) when you have all animations enabled but if you disable a couple of them ( I disabled menu and dialog) the experience is more than satisfactory.

Good to see that SageTV is giving a new lease of life to the HD100!

That's my opinion but you will have to try it out your self.

Read my comment above. I can't really fault it given the hardware it's running on. If you have all animations enabled, you do get the full "flash" factor but on the HD100 you notice a small delay in a couple of things (like the transition of the background). Play around with disabling a couple of the animation options and find what works best for you.

Just for clarification sake Lucas is refering to the default v7 ui in general. To my knowledge he hasn't run SMM.

also that video was shot on a client pc. I have a hd200 so I can't speak for the hd100 but I have done everything and gone through great links to try and keep everything extender friendly and as fast and smooth as possible. My movies scales all the fanart down to better match the actual pixel size the extender is using, this cuts down on wasted cache used on the extender. As well I have added some advance caching that I didn't use in SMW.

All that being said it will never be "as fast" as a computer client but it is pretty darn fast and smooth IMHO on the hd200.

As I said sagetv v7 is capable of so much more than that video even shows. It can render and draw in 3d as well as handle 3d animations. However the extenders cannot do this so for the time being I stayed away from 3d animations. I do have some made but won't release those just yet and those will be pc only when released, for now i am keeping everything within the extenders abililty since I think that is what the majority wants and will use.

Plucky,

With MyMovies in Collection Management you can set up usage of launching 3rd Party Players for specific containers/formats. Is this feature only specific for WMC or is this something SMM will pick up on (I am assuming it will not)

Why would you need to do that? sage now natively supports blu ray playback you just set in the setting which decoder you want to use for various formats.

I have MPC HC launched because that plus FFDShow is the best way to get bitstreaming of HD Audio to work. I have not seen if anyone has this working with the internal SageTV player

The player is different in V7 a belive you can set it up to launch your external player for blu rays (I could be wrong as I don't playback blu rays on my client)

Anyone care to chime in on this that was in beta?
